Went there for an evening meal with friends and had pre booked the table. This was midweek and arrived to a busy scene and a convivial atmosphere. Despite comments from other reviews we found the bar and catering staff to be very friendly and excellent service. We ordered food from the main menu and it was excellent and you get... More

We chose this B and B because of its location near wayland's smithy, uffington castle and white horse. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and the Inn itself was friendly and warm. The food was outstanding both for the evening meal and breakfast.

Superb sunday lunch, with a good sized heap of three meats served on a sharing board. Good idea. Well-looked after beer, and wonderfully warming ambience in a busy bar. Only negative to report was the perplexed response my wife received after enquiring whether we could have a bit more beef and less pork/lamb as she doesn't eat pork or lamb.... More

Very nearly perfect. Places to sit out front, watch the horses and have a beer at the end of the day. Sort of a funky room but with a great bath and shower. One of the best breakfasts. Keith is a perfect host, always looking out for his guests.

Good food at reasonable prices, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location near The Ridgeway and (unsurprisingly) the iron age white horse cut in the chalk. This pub is likely to appeal to visitors from abroad as a typical English country pub.

On a spur of the moment whim we decided to drop into the White Horse for an evening meal. We were a party of three (2 adults and a teenager) and had heard great things about the White Horse garden pizza oven. Upon arrival we made reference to the waitress behind the bar on what we had heard and asked... More

Can't believe the bad reviews on here - think some people just like to find fault in anything. If you like bland, characterless, faceless places ...travelodge/premier would suit. If you like a place that is full of character, old world charm, low oak beams, leaded windows, charming friendly hosts and delicious food...this is the place. We stayed for one night and... More

I have been to the White Horse a few times now to drink and to eat, and only have great things to say about it from the charming landlord to all the staff who can never do enough for you. The food is outstanding, I highly recommend the amazing pizza cooked in a stunning outside oven! The White Horse offers... More

We booked in advance for a table on the phone. On sitting at our table, we we rudely asked by another member of staff if we had booked. We confirmed we had booked for 2:30 a number of day prior. This member of staff then displayed the worst customer service I have ever experienced, informing us, in the most patronising... More

Stayed overnight in early September in the family rooms. The rooms were spacious and it was good to have a lounge/TV area. Good attention to detail with toiletries, plenty of tea & coffee. Unfortunately wifi doesn't work in the rooms - so we sat in the bar with our iPads and phones! Great dinner menu and very good breakfasts cooked... More
