I was a bit worried about some of the poor previous reviews. On a Sunday evening, there was a pizza chef in the courtyard, where there was also live music. My wife and I enjoyed one of the best pizzas ever sitting at the front of the inn in a peaceful area out of range of the live music. The... More

The White Horse Inn is a charming thatched roofed Hostelry situated in a beautiful part of Oxfordshire, the Garden at the rear of the premises is well appointed with comfortable wooden Benches with Tables. When we ordered food, only available after 6 pm,our order was forgotten and had to wait an unacceptable amount of of time for it to be cooked. When... More

We popped in this pub yesterday after a lovely walk on the White Horse This pub is really the most picturesque public house ever, it' looks stunning from m the outside and the village is just beautiful Inside it's very welcoming and looked clean & tidy However as soon as you approach the bar...you are faced with the landlord!!! He... More

Visited this pub for food and drinks this evening, upon arrival it is a stunning pub! But as soon as you enter you are met with a very frosty reception. There is no acknowledgment and it seems you are inconveniencing them with your presence. I felt sorry for the waitresses who appear to be petrified of the land lady and... More

We stayed here while walking the Ridgeway. It's a beautiful old pub in a picture-postcard village. The B&B accommodation is in a converted outhouse next door. The rooms are on two levels and are extremely modern and comfortable, if slightly worn. They serve an excellent breakfast and the evening meals are splendid. There was some inevitable noise from the pub... More

Upon arriving at the White Horse it was a beautiful location and we were seen to immediately which was great. We had to wait a while for food but it wasn't a problem. My partner cut open her chicken to find a long black hair in the middle of it. She took it back in to the bar where a... More

Having been looking forward to a nice family meal with my mother and having been here regularly before I had high hopes for The White Horse. However the customer service was not welcoming . The waitresses were moody and didn't smile once and when asked if we could move table gave a blank look and were told THAT was our... More

I booked a table weeks in advance and we arrived hungry after walking up to the White Horse. I wonder if we were there on the same day as the previous reviewer (Martin504077) as we had exactly the same experience with the barman. However, from the moment the waitress took over, it got so much better. There were two waitresses... More

Had a lovely meal with my girlfriend. I had the pie of the day, pastry was perfectly crisp and the meat was tender and juicy. My girlfriends fish was tender and succulent & melted in her mouth. Will come again to sample more of their menu. On an another note places like this (IMO) excel when the attention to detail... More
