The location is ok, but there are no tourist attractions of great merit in the area. The hotel is comfortable, staff welcoming and the meals good with plenty of choice. If you need to say in the area, go for it. You won't be disappointed.

We cycled through rain and wind to get here and were warmly welcomed by Allan, our friendly host. This rural hotel has a lovely view of the loch from the dining room. The food was excellent, especially the seafood. The wind whistled through the roof tiles all night, like pipes playing in our room, which kept us awake for a... More

Very friendly owners and staff, with warm, clean and comfortable rooms. The very helpful staff dried all our soaking clothing overnight and then repeated this the second night too. Nothing was too much trouble. Wonderful location for touring the Uists. However, the food is the star turn here and is lovingly prepared by Isobel, the amazingly talented chef/proprietor. Would definitely... More

This was booked for us and all reviews led us to believe it was fab - sadly not so. On arrival it looked tired and in need of a lick of paint etc. we were greeted by the landlady wearing a dirty apron as she was in the middle of cooking lunch for some guests. Our room was billed as... More

Wow. Really posted much faster than we expected but expect it we did. I'm sure the dull weather did not help this couple's demeanour and the added disruption of the ferry strike certainly wouldn't help. Their reservation was extended by the tour company but then on the last day they arranged with the company to change the reservation as they... More

Very friendly, helpful and capable owners and staff. Clean, warm and comfortable room. A comprehensive, well thought out menu with beautifully cooked food. Relaxed atmosphere. Thoroughly recommended. Will return as soon as possible.

The couple who run this hotel are just lovely and nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent and it's warm and comfortable. It's very unpretentious and while the rooms may not be luxurious there is everything you need. When you go to the islands what's important to me is friendliness and this place deserves 5 stars for that.... More

Staff are really friendly they will help you in any way they can and they have some of the best food you will find on the islands. Rooms are comfortable. They also have a hairy Highland coo that you can pet. Great place to stay

We didn't stay at Orasay Inn so cannot comment on the rooms, but when staying in a nearby cottage we walked up and had dinner one evening. The plan for the week was to self-cater and it’s a good job we left it until Thursday to eat here or we would have been here every night and not bothered cooking... More

I'm just back from my first visit to the Western Isles and the Orasay Inn. I was here with work originally for 3 nights but due to weather it turned into 4 but my hosts Alan & Isobel couldn't have been more helpful with vehicle issues, veggie options and an extra nights accomodation despite the challenges that the weather brought! The... More

Stayed for two nights during a tour of the Outer Hebrides. Had selected the hotel based on location and suggestions and we were very glad we had as we certainly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are not luxurious but they are sufficiently spacious with all facilities and nicely maintained. Isabelle is a great cook and we reaaly enjoyed our cooked... More
