Went for a family birthday meal tonight. This is a lovely village pub with a superb restaurant. It has 2 big log fires which is very inviting. The owner came out of the kitchen to meet her guests which is very friendly and welcoming. The staff are very attentive to there customers and look happy in there jobs. The food is... More

Walking Offa's Dyke path March 2014 we came across this inn but were initially put off by the exterior, however, on entering the bar which is warm and welcoming we were found last minute accommodation. Our hosts were very friendly and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The evening meal was excellent but although the accommodation was... More

We've now made this our 'local' after the closure of the pub in our village. The owners are really friendly and welcoming and when the fire is lit on a miserable day, the bar is really cosy. It can get a bit 'lively' at times but that's a good thing given that many traditional pubs are like funeral parlors these... More

I booked at the Dolphin in preference over chain hotels in Shrewsbury for a 4 night business related stay and I am delighted that I did. The Dolphin is a delightful locals' pub with friendly and accommodating owners and staff, excellent food and the breakfast alone is worth the rate. Llanymynech may not be a familiar name to most but... More

Llanymynech is a small village on a fairly busy crossroads at the junction of 3 counties - Shropshire, Powys and Wrexham. We have lived within 5 miles of the Dolphin Inn for over 20 years and did not know it even existed. We arranged to meet friends there for a meal making a table of 6 using the hotel as... More

The pub looks much nicer inside than how you would expect from the exterior. We had some rather impressive burgers and chips, skewered through the middle with tomato, and gerkins on the top! The staff are friendly, food prices average for pub grub. We noticed on our 2 visits that they could do with a new dishwasher as some of... More

We liked the look of the menu, although the pub itself looked a bit run-down, but we were really pleasantly surprised - the food was really good, and served quickly too. Very friendly and helpful staff, lovely sunny garden. Would go there again.

Unfortunately they don't do food on Sundays or Mondays. It came highly recommended so we just had a couple of beers, sat in the sun, had a game of darts and watched the GP. Great couple of hrs. Thanks

The wonderful proprietors of the Dolphin rescued my friend and I when our other accommodation didn't work out after a long day of walking the Offa's Dyke. The twin room we stayed in was lovely, clean, and very comfortable. They took great care to provide a delicious gluten and dairy free dinner (perfectly cooked steak, steamed veggies, and salad) for... More

Rosemary & Lynne Food - highly recommended Called in for lunch on saturday, very welcoming, friendly & a lovely atmosphere. Wonderful food, the salmon quiche was the best I have ever tasted & the apple & treacle tart were just superb! Can't wait to call in again when next in the area!
