From before we arrived, we were made v welcome.. John couldn't have been more helpful. When we arrived, the room was lovely, and we were happy enought, then we tasted the food. Top food, top chef. Makes Nigella looks mean with ingredients. 😉 We spent some of the journey home debating how viable it was to make the journey a... More

Stayed for one night at short notice and Landlord could not have been more accommodating nand friendly. Refurbished ensuite room and comfy bed and a busy local bar on the ground floor. A wonderful change from those sterile sleeping boxes and cheaper too. Good beer and an excellent breakfast. Thanks!

Very close to the Offa's Dyke Path, we found the Dolphin easily. Things were a little chaotic when we arrived - late afternoon on Father's Day and the place was buzzing. The pub itself could do with a bit of a facelift but our room had been refurbished and was very comfortable and even had a bath ! No food... More

Stopped off from the Llanymynech rock walk for a late lunch today at the Dolphin Inn and even our springer spaniel received a warm welcome - fresh bowl of water and a bonio biscuit. Our food was excellent too, reasonably priced and served quickly by very friendly folk ....Highly recommend if in the area.

We stayed two nights and would thoroughly recommend this inn to anyone considering a visit to these parts. The room was very comfortable, there is ample parking, and the food is really outstanding. By far the nicest breakfast toast we had on our two-week trip, and a good choice of dishes on the evening menu. The small dining room is... More

Have been here several times for a drink and meal and every time the food is excellent. They have a good menu all home prepared. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. On this occasion I had the home made crab and salmon fishcakes, my partner had the lamb shank (slow cooked for 10 hours) and my daughter had... More

It has 2 big log fires which is very inviting. The owner came out of the kitchen to meet her guests which is very friendly and welcoming. The staff are very attentive to there customers and look happy in there jobs. The food is... More

Walking Offa's Dyke path March 2014 we came across this inn but were initially put off by the exterior, however, on entering the bar which is warm and welcoming we were found last minute accommodation. Our hosts were very friendly and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The evening meal was excellent but although the accommodation was... More

We've now made this our 'local' after the closure of the pub in our village. The owners are really friendly and welcoming and when the fire is lit on a miserable day, the bar is really cosy. It can get a bit 'lively' at times but that's a good thing given that many traditional pubs are like funeral parlors these... More
