Of 5 properties that we stayed at during our holiday to Scotland, this was by far our favorite and we can not wait to go back next year. The Steadings is a bit off the beaten path but that's what makes it so special. It's close enough to all Loch Ness/Inverness area attractions but the landscape outside of The Steadings... More

We enjoyed a quick overnight stay and it worked well for us. Not sure that we would call it a country house hotel which it makes efforts to replicate. Although we had a good dinner our breakfast seemed rather restricted to the set menu which prevented perhaps more personal choices such as grapefruit and muesli together. A good and tranquil... More

After a second visit to this property, we can say it is great. Though one is a few short miles from a main road and Loch Ness , it is not evident. Evenings can be spent looking for wildlife and mornings looking at the many birds coming to feed in the front garden. The rooms are clean and well supplied... More

I booked this hotel over a month in advance through the BOOK ONLINE link on their website which directs you to the booklochness.com website. I received a confirmation email from Visit Loch Ness with a booking reference and details of my stay. With this in mind and only five weeks until my stay I did not feel that it would... More

I am a lone female worker and I was over the moon to be welcomed into such a friendly hotel. David and Mary were exceptional hosts who went out of their way to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I stay in many hotels all over the UK and would not hesitate to recomend this hotel to anyone, the... More

Had dinner at the grouse and trout and was very disappointed menu was priced per course if you just had starter it would have been £19.95!! Mushroom stroganof was mostly sauce, the venison casserole was all gravy and the steak could hardly be cut with a steak knife and this incurred a supplement of £2.95. Biscuits and cheese also incurred... More

Fantastic setting and host friendly when they appeared...however service and menu outdated (elevator music/paper doilies/crescent veg/banana spilt) and does not justify the price of £23.95 for one course with additional supplements for steaks and cheese! Shocking! Quality of food very disappointing...!

After arriving here at the end of a long drive we were warmly welcomed by David and Mary with tea and coffee in the lounge and settled in for three nights in very comfortable surroundings, with excellent service and delicious food - including some tasty vegetarian options. Our room had a lovely view over low mountains and was spacious and... More

Stayed here 2 nights after seeing it in Johannsens and reading Trip Advisor. A bit off the beaten track but that is what we wanted- peace and quiet in a lovely setting with hills and fields all around it.Easy to get to Inverness and to the South side (the better side) of Loch Ness.We were welcomed on arrival by David.The... The Steadings is a Scottish bed and breakfast treasure! If you are traveling to the highlands and the Loch Ness region I highly recommend adding this charming stop over. The atmosphere is completely relaxing and beautiful, blending plush comfort with natures beauty. Every touch in the inn is personal, comfortable, and thoughtful, offering the traveler a total highland respite. The... More
