After travelling through France for 4 days we arrived at our gite (Cabardes) for 5 nights. We were immediately welcomed by Ruth, Fergus and dog/cat, baggage carried in and immediately felt at home. This is one of the best equipped gites we have stayed in, even down to herbs and olive oil. Gardens are gorgeous and the pool lovely and... More

We spent 5 nights here in August with our 13month old son and had a fantastic time - everything is perfect. Stunning location tucked on the edge of a quaint French hamlet, but v close to lots of activities. Superb accomodation and wonderfully friendly and helpful hosts. Thank you for Fergus, Ruth and Ellen. 100% recommended for families - v... More

I only read all the reviews below once I got home, but I agree with all the comments. We came for 5 day short break at October half term and stayed in Corbieres gite. The weather was glorious most days and we swam in the pool every day. The countryside all around is ideal for walking and cycling. Fergus and... More

We stayed in September, weather great, gite fabulous. We wanted to have a peaceful relaxing week in France, drinking wine, enjoying the food and generally chilling out and we got the lot! and it was made all the more special by Fergus and Ruth our hosts. Lovely swimming pool, a real bonus. So easy to get to, flew from Liverpool... More

We stayed in this lovely place because we had been thinking about re-locating to France and were interested not only in the area but also in the pros and cons of running a Gite business in the area.We came away thinking that Ruth and Fergus had got it totally right! We stayed in Cabardes, which is a charming little gite... More

What an absolute gem of a place Domaine La Castagne is. We couldn’t have wished for a better holiday. The gites are superb and equipped with everything you might need (including everything for our 18 month old son) and additional touches, which make you feel very spoilt (such as the welcome basket and bottle of wine). The location is stunning,... More

I travelled to this area of France to visit family, and was recommended Domaine La Castagne by locals as a good place to stay. it gave me the flexibility to visit family as well as the surrounding towns and villages. A must for anyone staying in the area would be a trip to Revel market on Saturdays. the selection of... More

We stayed at La Castagne for a week, Mum ( 45+), Grannny (75+) and Granddaughter (11) in Fitou. There was something for everyone. The pool was a huge success, Granny was able to get in and out as it has steps rather than a ladder. The grounds/gites were beautiful and well maintained, the surrounding countryside breathtaking - it was sunflower... More

We had a memorable time at Domain La Castagne. Our three children, 13, 10 and 6 were never bored. This is an ideal spot for combining relaxation with sight seeing. There are so many pretty towns and villages nearby. Carcassonne and the Canal Du Midi are also close by and well worth visiting. Domain La Castagne comprises 4 self catering... More
