Me and my wife stayed here for one night, after a long day in the car I would like to relax infornt of a tv before the dinner. In this hotel there was no tv. Time for dinner, for our main course there was an inedible elk. Taste was good, but it was like chewing rubber. The next morning it... More

We stayed for one night in May, at the time of booking I didn’t realise it's up at almost 1000m above sea level. When we were there snow still covered half the land and the lakes were frozen. The communal areas of the hotel were fantastic, far better than the outside of the building had me think, full of character... More

Stayed for one night with my son on our way to a family reunion in Geiranger. I had booked a small double room at a (for Norway) low rate, but was given a large room with a separate sitting area and great view, without asking and at no extra cost. Allthough there were only a few guests we were served... More

Grotli is a wonderful place to visit! The public area is delight and a 100 year of history you can feel and see! Our room was large, clean and a place that not only was perfect to sleep in, but also to charge the "batteries" by resuming this day activities and planning the next days happenings. The food, the decorations,... More

What a wonderful place to stay! The entire complex is very large and each public room a delight to see. Our room was larger than expected and we were very pleased. We even had a sitting area that looked out on the fjords nearby. The staff was very helpful. This is definitely the Norwegian experience. We stayed 3 nights and... More

Here one can really enjoy a traditional norwegian atmosphere. I didnt overnight but went to have dinner and drinks at the restaurant there. The decoration of the food was a bit better than the food itself, but one doesnt expect much by scandinavian cuisine right! Magical living room, full of tradition. Would recommend it.also the way from stryn to grotli... More

We didn't go into the Grotli Hotel, but for anyone interested in aircraft, this is a must-do stop on the road from Stryn to Loms. when we visited in September 2012, the mock up of a Heinkel 111 was in the parking lot (you can see it from the road). The aircraft was used during the making of the film... More

We stayed at this hotel (also called Grotli Høyfjellshotell) because it was cheaper than hotels right in Geiranger, but not too far away. The drive to Geiranger is beautiful, and you have to go down the mountain to get there anyway, so it's not really out of the way. The hotel is like a gem in the wilderness. It's above... More

This 5th generation family hotel offers a good alternative, 35 min from Geiranger. Rooms are a little bit outdated, but that's part of the charm. Simple bathroom. No TV, but you don't go to a place like this to watch TV anyway in my opinoin. WIFI is included in room rate though, which is practical. Good breakfast with some local... More

We stayed in this hotel in connection with a five day sight seeing car trip. I wish to recommend this hotel to other travelers for the following various reasons. It is affordable. Considering “everything” in Norway is expensive, this hotel is value for money. The rooms are simple but clean. The public areas are interesting, comfortable, large and show, with... More
