What a find. We chose this hotel almost by accident, deciding to choose a hotel nearer the port of Santander for our final night. In fact, it turned out to be probably the finest hotel of all five we have used in our three years of exploring Northern Spain, and we will certainly be starting our holiday at Hotel Torre... More

We stayed in this beautiful hotel on the way back to the ferry in Bilbao after a long tour through Spain, and what a wonderful end to our holiday this proved. Even though the autumn weather was misty and disappointing, we still appreciated the warm welcome of the manager Giorgio and his attention to the finest detail of our stay.... More

We were staying here on a Groupon voucher - great value, but it meant that we could rerurn to a part of Spain we had not visited for over 10 years. This town is up in the mountains, so do not expect beach weather. It rained some of the time, but when the sun shone we could really enjoy the... More

We stayed here for one night following a visit to the Guggenheim in Bilbao - it's only about half an hour away. The hotel really is a surprise 'find' and, as other reviewers have said, offers guests a charming escape from the tourist hotspots but with the mountains and beaches just a stone's throw away. There are pretty, well kept... More

We stayed at this Hotel for 2 nights on a Groupon deal. The hotel is a beautiful building in wonderful surroundings. The hotel is a 17th Century palace where the original character of the building has been well preserved and is full of character with games and reading rooms ro relax in. The food in the restaurant was very enjoyable,... More

We stayed here for 5 nights on a Groupon deal. Although we had seen photos of the hotel none of them did it justice. The building itself is a charming 17th C mansion, with lots of quirky features and nooks and crannies to explore. The games room, library and drawing room were delightful to relax in at the end of... This 16 Century hotel has kept its history for all to view. We stayed here for two nights and the food is incredible, it's flavours are 'rustic meets michelin recommended' and the tastes linger long after you have left. Once we got over the annoying fact that it really wasn't possible to get a bite to eat until the restaurant... More

An old stone-built building oozing with character. The hotel was both well serviced and full of charm. The room we were given was pleasant, clean and well fitted. While not a double, the beds were two singles pushed together to form a super-king, so were well pleased. Bathroom had a power-shower with front jets, and had heaps of spotlessly clean... More

The most delightful ancient building set in garden with pool. A stone staircase which has to be seen to be believed. Comfortably designed and decorated common rooms to capture an long gone history. Take a walk through the village, it adds to the whole atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent. Dinner also very good. Loved the rural setting and easy to walk... More
