Friends of ours who were unable to join us on this trip suggested we spend a night here after our journey to Santander. What a great recommendation it turned out to be. It is a bit isolated in a small village but a beautiful old building with lots of history. It is on what used to be the main road... More

This castle is nested in the mountains and is a hidden treasure! The family palace was built in the early 1600's and renovated in the 1800's. It was restored by its current owners and will offer the modern amenities in a old world charm. You will go up to one of the seven rooms on second and third floors by... More

This secluded treasure is specially for those who view vacation as an experience and not a checklist of monuments. Tucked away in a tranquil, pastoral setting in Cantabria this palace was built in the early 1600's and renovated in the 1800's. It was lovingly restored by its current owners and retains the rustic charm of a 17th century family palace... More

We travelled through Northern Spain and during our trip spent 3 nights in Torre De Ruesga. which is set in beautiful gardens with an amazing view to the mountains on all sides. The old building has been renovated with taste and the room we took under the roof was very spacious and clean. The quality of the food served in... More

What a find. We chose this hotel almost by accident, deciding to choose a hotel nearer the port of Santander for our final night. In fact, it turned out to be probably the finest hotel of all five we have used in our three years of exploring Northern Spain, and we will certainly be starting our holiday at Hotel Torre... More

We stumbled across this hotel, almost by accident, on the way back to Santander. A beautiful building, sympathetically restored..... excellent staff. quite delightful. Wonderful gardens, with a good pool. well worth visiting.

We stayed in this beautiful hotel on the way back to the ferry in Bilbao after a long tour through Spain, and what a wonderful end to our holiday this proved. Even though the autumn weather was misty and disappointing, we still appreciated the warm welcome of the manager Giorgio and his attention to the finest detail of our stay.... More

We were staying here on a Groupon voucher - great value, but it meant that we could rerurn to a part of Spain we had not visited for over 10 years. This town is up in the mountains, so do not expect beach weather. It rained some of the time, but when the sun shone we could really enjoy the... More

We stayed here for one night following a visit to the Guggenheim in Bilbao - it's only about half an hour away. The hotel really is a surprise 'find' and, as other reviewers have said, offers guests a charming escape from the tourist hotspots but with the mountains and beaches just a stone's throw away. There are pretty, well kept... More

We stayed at this Hotel for 2 nights on a Groupon deal. The hotel is a beautiful building in wonderful surroundings. The hotel is a 17th Century palace where the original character of the building has been well preserved and is full of character with games and reading rooms ro relax in. The food in the restaurant was very enjoyable,... More
