This time we returned, but for two weeks and not one! If only we had more time off work, we would be there for longer! Again super accommodation and company and lots to do. Our children (aged 6 and 4) particularly enjoyed playing with the friendly dog and swinging and chatting in the hammock chairs! Giles and Louise and family... More

It was a first for a painting holiday and a first at Manzac and what an experience. No worries, no decisions to make just wonderfully looked after by Giles and Louise with delightful facilities and wonderful food and by Sue Deighton, our tutor for a memorable painting experience. We were taken by Giles to delightful places where our vision and... More

We have just returned from a 4 family holiday and Manzac that did not involve much painting but as it has in the past provided a fantastic venue for a holiday with hordes of kids. When and if the weather in inclement there is a wide varieties of activities in the area, and when the weather is good there is... More

We have just returned from another wonderful week at Manzac. Giles and Louise are superb hosts offering excellent accommodation with plenty of good food and wine to enjoy. The studio and setting are a painters paradise. Our tutor Jackie Devereux was inspirational. Our third and definitely not our last visit to Manzac.

I have just returned from a water colour painting holiday at Manzac which proved to be a fabulous experience. The house is situated in a tucked away spot with amazing views and grounds and yet close to interesting, undiscovered towns and villages. Giles and Louise have managed, through talent and vision,( not to mention sheer hard work!) to create the... More

Manzac is, quite simply, a wonderful location for holidays spent painting, sketching, photographing, or perhaps just lounging. Giles and Louise have applied huge effort over several years to create superb accommodation (fully deserving its #1 ranking in this region of France) and provide consistently excellent hospitality. The many reviews speak for themselves and are certainly not overstated! Robert & Sylvia... More

I had a smashing week with 5 other like minded people painting in the area. Staying at Manzac d'en Bas was excellent. Accommodation-food-facilities was first class and would recommend it to anyone wishing to visit the region. R Berry Gloucestershire

Another great week staying with Giles and Louise. I took a small group of artists who thoroughly enjoyed their excellent hospitality, wonderful food and wine and views to die for. Everything is immaculate and the beds are soooooo comfy ! Giles took us all in the minibus to some fabulous villages, rivers, bridges and hill tops to visit and paint.... More

Manzac d’en bas is set in the midst of Ariege’s always-green countryside with inspiring views towards the Pyrenees. The rambling house has been beautifully restored but still retains its original warmth and character. The owners, Giles and Louise, are friendly, welcoming and unobtrusively attentive. Excellent meals were provided, the wine flowed freely and all was done to ensure that the... More
