Four nights was not enough! I wish that we had stayed longer. It takes a bit to get to Bathsheba...and it is SO different from the west and south coast tourist areas. But, if you desire the real laid-back lifestyle of Barbados, the Sea U can be your spot in paradise. Come ready to relax. The main house and air-conditioned... more

We booked ourselves into the fancy one bedroom apartment overlooking the beach with the 'explorer' package, that comes with a air-conditioned hire car. A hire car is a real must in this location, unless you want to brave the frequent, but insanely driven local buses - Sea-U is very out of the way, a good 30 min hike from the... more

Everything about the Sea-U! Guest House was perfect in my opinion. From the moment we stepped onto the property, we were treated so well by the staff. They are helpful, pleasant and courteous. Uschi, the owner, creates a comfortable atmosphere for the staff and guests to really enjoy Sea-U! and the nature surrounding it. Uschi created the entire place with... more

We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary in Barbados because old friends live there and love it. We wanted sea, but not crowds. So the east coast was the answer - but a car is necessary, if you want to see the rest of the island, especially the bright lights. And if you want to swim safely in the sea.... more

We have only been back one week and already we are planning our next trip back. We got married in Barbados and stayed at the Sea-U as a honeymoon. Uschi and the staff's hospitality was incredible. We looked forward to the family style dinners and relaxing breakfasts. There is plenty to do on the island, but it is great to... more

Sea-U In a nutshell Positives: - Beautiful property - Lovely staff [esp. in the kitchen and Seacat (sp?)] - Great dinners at the comfort of your home away from home - Comfortable rooms (although they could have used a hot pot, better mattress and a couple extra bars of soap - we had to buy our own as we were... more

We spent the first 2 nights of our 10 day vacation at Sea-U as we were looking to escape to quiet, tranquil spot to enjoy the sun and surf in Barbados. I was traveling with my wife and 4 year old daughter. We stayed in a studio room on the first floor of the main guest house. The accomodations were... more

Having stayed in Barbados several times, I had seen the photos on the websites and thought this would be a change from the glitzy 5* hotels on the west coast. The fact that it rained almost every day did not help, but the welcome drink on arrival was help yourself from a fridge behind the open dining room. Breakfast was... more

This beautiful part of Barbados is enhanced by the friendliness and ambience of Sea-u-Guest House! While we more often stay at a resort type setting, this vacation was so much fun and relaxing. Whether sipping coconut milk which was provided by Seacat or lounging in one of several hammocks, this oasis seems far removed from even the hustle and pretense... more

Sea-U Guest House is an exceptionally well run establishment in a beautiful location on the relatively uncrowded east coast of Barbados. The owner was very helpful without being too "in your face." I love Sea-U's Antillean style of ventilating with louvered windows and doors which catch the winds off the ocean. My only complaint was that the dinner we had... more
