I've traveled a lot of places in the world and a lot in Central America and this is the best resort to which I have ever been. Lapa Rios is touted as an eco-resort and I caution anyone who thinks that may mean you have to sacrifice luxury or amenities. You don't. In fact, it qualifies as an eco-resort because... More

I took my husband to Lapa Rios Ecolodge for his 60th birthday. He had always wanted to go to a rain forest. This was a perfect mix of hiking ,exploreing, and relaxing. Do as much or as little as you want, no pressure. The staff creates a fun and relaxing enviroment. During the dry season there is little or no... More

Loved Lapa Rios for relaxation and Costa Rica's tropical beauty - at its finest. The view from our bungalow was outstanding. You are on a hill, so you look down on the beach, not across. The walk to the beach is about 10 minutes, downhill. It's muddy, but get used to mud in Costa Rica. All the rain is what... More

The only way to describe Lapa Rios is Perfect. Yes with a capital P. Yes it is in the middle of the rain forest. Yes it might be difficult to get to. Yes there are bugs. Yes it is hot and humid. Yes there are steps. But everyone knows this before they come. That being said from the moment you... More

Lapa Rios is absolutely amazing. I think my husband was ready to cry when it was time to leave. Lapa Rios was so much more then I thought it would be. Upon being greeted at the airport you are being treated as the most important guest. Once you arrive at the lodge everyone makes sure to introduce themselves to you... More

We recently stayed at Lapa Rios and I must say, it was all we expected and more. Set in the secondary rain forest on the Osa Peninsula, it is a spectacular resort completely dedicated to eco-preservation and education. And the amenities are amazing. Our villa was one of 16 fully integrated into the surrounding forest. Each villa has comfortable bedding... More

Lapa Rios was everything I expected and then some! I travel a lot - all over the world - and I usually prefer luxury hotels (Four Seasons, etc). I was a bit worried about leaving behind the comforts of a/c, room service, TV, internet, etc. That being said, I had always wanted to explore the Costa Rican and Panamanian jungles... More

great place. Agree with other recent reviews. Nice people, good food, lots of activities. It is a lot of stairs and walking. Not a place if you are handicap or in a wheelchair. Request cabin at top of hill. You can walk 100 steps (stairs) from your bungalow to the lodge (8 flights of stairs?). 4 nights, 3 full days... More

Lapa Rios is an amazing place. The setting is beautiful, the people genuinely nice, the hotel clean and attractive and the food delicious. There are so many hikes available with the hotel guides that you could never be bored. The guides are great at what they do. The animals really are RIGHT THERE and it is fantastic. We spent time...
