Everything has been allready told here, toilet leaking, wash basin pipes leaking, electricity only in the evening ! I wonder why I didn t read the pages of Tripadvisor beforhand (I m stupid) The second day I found there is another resort opposite. Funny I had walk (not very bad to have some excercise) to Neighboring resort to byu some... More

I spent 4 days and three nights in December 2012, booked through Tropical. The accommodation is petty poor compared to others at a similar price- temporary electricity, uncomfortable beds, no ac, and my toilet leaked. Staff are unfriendly, unhelpful and not welcoming, except for a few exceptions. On the whole they would rather hang out among themselves than interact or... More

I stay there for 3 days 2 nights on this week..this is a very simple lodge so do not expect a lot of facilities..like other traveller's review, the electricity and water is very limited but I think it's okay after all we only need a place to sleep and bath at night..to my surprise the room was clean...the room we... This will do if you need a place to sleep for a night - I would not recommend to stay here for more than a day. The place is very basic with no electricity during the day (only from 6PM until midnight) and the staff is not very serviceminded. Food that is served here is absolute flavourless and you have... I have to say that when you decide to stay at a national park you should go for N expect the basics.. Limited electricity n and clean drinking water... Then you'll get a feel of nature.. Staying at royal Mulu would be just like staying in any 5 star hotel!! You go to a park .. Live like nature intended!!... More

Looks nice upon arrival but it seems that almost everyone has to suffer the same poor amenities for a ridiculous price. I personally was lucky as I travelled with a friend who is local to the area. If I had not then i'm sure I would have been scammed for the same over the top prices as the other few... More

The place is quite simply dreadful for the US$50-60 they charged us per night, it appears to be fairly far from park HQ (which is where your bound to have most of your activity happening). There's virtually no one manning the place and the restaurants, The rooms are musty, dark, no facilities, no towels, soaps, toilet paper, no electricity after... More

Benerat Inn is a collection of flimsy terraced chalets elevated on stilts set into a 3 sided quadrangle about 1.5km outside the entrance to Gunung Mulu National Park. Rooms have cold showers and appear to come in twin and triple beds. It’s run by Tropical Adventure Tours & Travel (www.borneotropicaladventure.com), in Miri and they will try to sell you a... More

nice kampong-style accommodation in the middle of the mulu national park, with a river running just next to it. this gives a really relaxing feeling when dining at the common dining hall, if you're seated overlooking the river. the food served, though simple, are not bad at all and of decent portion. one down side is that the whole resort... I'll start with the good: the park guide was excellent. He was knowledgeable and helpful, and went out of his way to make sure that we were happy. If it hadn't been for him I definitely would have been banging on the doors of Tropical borneo demanding a refund. However... the experience overall was poor. They don't tell you until... More
