Saulty is a tiny hamlet just north of the Arras-Doullens road. The chateau is the only such building in the area, so is easy to find. The gardens and grounds are lovely and the family own 18 hectares of orchards, which offer lovely, relaxed walks. And the horse (not surprisingly) loves apples! We stayed here on our way down to Paris. Good distance from euro tunnel and very convenient when we had been to see Vimy ridge that day. The chateau is what you'd expect of an old building but whilst not in a bad condition, certain things could do with improving upon. Stayed 2 nights in this very charming, unassuming Chateau. To walk outside before Breakfast and enjoy the graciousness of the grounds and the building makes this place somewhere to remember ! Breakfast was good, the 'Chambres' very adequate, spacious and historical. Madame is very pleasant and helpful and speaks a modicum of English. You can't beat staying in a Chateau... More
