visited the restaurant tonight with friends - all 3 of us had issues with our main meals and our sweet course. the restaurant manager couldn't do his job - never came near the table despite the fact that we ALL had complaints with each course. Needless to say we will not be back. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone - overpriced... More

This hotel is a little out of the way unless you're familiar with the area, but well worth stepping off the beaten track for. Staff are pleasant and helpful, attractive décor and , well organised rooms with plenty of electric power points, hanging space, etc. Food was good with plenty of choice.

BW is my chain of choice but we only discovered 'the Eg' last year and have returned several times. Stays have mostly been for leisure (shopping in Glasgow, sight seeing) but I've also stayed on business. It's close enough to Glasgow to travel in by train (Hairmyers or Clarkston) but far enough out for a relaxing stay. The staff are... More

We have stayed here a few times now and love it. The staff when booking and on reception are fabulous. the rooms are spotless, decent size and comfortable. The breakfast is the only thing that lets this place down slightly. The food great but the service a little on the poor side however the reception and rooms more than make... More

I was recommended this hotel which is why I chose it. I'm not normally a fan of Best Western hotels. This one is great, though. Fab interior, great food and very friendly staff. Wifi is also good and works throughout the hotel. Rooms are a bit on the small-side (at least the one I had) and the shower is mega-powerful,... More

Many thanks for you posting and kind comments. There are various style of rooms within the hotel, different shapes and sizes which hopefully all adds to the individuality of the hotel! More

We stayed at The Eglinton Arms Hotel for three nights this week. Our room, a comfortable and tastefully decorated double room was just lovely. We told the receptionist we were getting married on the third day! I was totally surprised when we were upgraded to the most beautiful honeymoon suite that night? Luxury does not describe it! It is just... More

Booked 3 nights here after a review in our local paper. It was a good review and can honestly say we were not disappointed. Hotel was absolutely immaculate, rooms well appointed and the staff were very helpful and friendly without being over the top. Taxi to Glasgow cost £18 so not out of the question for an excellent days shopping.... More

I booked this hotel after reading the reviews, especially those of female solo travellers, being a lady travelling alone on business. I used this hotel as my base for the week and ate at the restaurant every night, the food was delicous and the service was excellent. I will definatley stop here again!

We were not staying in the hotel but instead booked a meal as we had tried the food years ago and were happy then. The surroundings are very pleasant, clean and not crammed in. The choice from the menu was excellent, varied and reasonably priced. The meals were all brought out in good time and the waitresses were very polite,... More

Dating back to 1835, the BEST WESTERN Eglinton Arms Hotel is an old coaching inn, privately owned set at the edge of the village green in the heart of the rural village of Eaglesham. Highly reputated locally and open for meals all day, the split level restaurant is tastefully decorated with feature fireplaces, tartan carpets and stag's heads with a nod to a Scottish country house hotel with a modern contemporary twist.
