I've driven past the end of the road to Dirleton countless times over the years, but never been there. It took two hungry ten year olds (son and friend) to change that, and I'm so glad I visited. Stayed here many times in the past and recently stayed following its refurbishment. It was as good as always. Bar and staff are really friendly and welcoming. The inn stands on the village green opposite Dirleton Castle. It only has a few rooms that are traditional and cosy with soft beds. Room 4 has a double Jacuzzi bath. Restaurant is... More

£7.40 sitting in the bar for a small portion of over-creamed and tasteless chowder is in my mind excessive. You can have soup anywhere in East Lothian for under £5 served with a bread roll. The barman assured us that this was indeed the price. It is impossible to contact the Castle via their website. My friend and I are... More

Good range of meals on menu and service was attentive and prompt. Meals were delivered promptly as well, despite the restaurant being busy. Food was good and well prepared. Deserts... More

A parked up outside the pub so I could walk my springer spaniel past the church and onto the beach at Yellow Craig, at least this way you don't have to pay for parking. It was a glorious sunny day and walking back to the car my mind wondered to the idea that a pint and a snack would be... More

I would definitely recommend the castle inn for food and drinks. The meal was absolutely gorgeous. The atmosphere was great and all the staff were friendly. I will definitely return if I'm in the area.

We were attending a wedding at another hotel nearby and only using this inn for accommodation. We arrived early and had no problem accessing our room to get changed into wedding gear. We used the dining room but only for a bowl of soup, because of time restraints. It isn't fair to judge a restaurant on one bowl of soup... More
