Just got back from a wonderful stay at the Trigony House Hotel. The house is utterly charming, the hosts warm and welcoming, and the setting very peaceful. The food is outstanding - both evening meal and breakfast were memorable. Would highly recommend.

We had a warm welcome, nothing to much trouble. Log fires in the rooms downstairs, bedrooms spacious and with character. Apart from Dora who was lovely what made our stay memorable was the fantastic food we were served prepared by Adam, locally sourced meat and fish used in an imaginative menu superb.

We had a two night stay and ate dinner both nights in the restaurant. Upon arrival we realised that we were in for a treat! We were offered tea in the bar, this was given to us on a tray with a lovely cake selection in front of a roaring fire with the hotel dog (Roxy) curled up in front... More

We was welcomed upon arrival with afternoon tea and homemade cakes in the sitting room. We was able to eat in the bar area with the dog meaning we could all eat together without having to leave the dog in the room risking disturbing other guests, it is well worth taking advantage of the 3 course meal as the food... Just one night - would have liked to stay for two but not possible on this occasion. Spacious, comfortable rooms with all the extras. A period property of great interest with lovely grounds and great local walks for us and our dogs (two couples each with a dog) - dog friendly rooms that had no indication of having bad dog... More

Stayed here with my boyfriend and doggie and really enjoyed all experience. Room was big and spacious..private garden..conservatory..well everything you could ask for. Our doggie could have a dinner with us in the... More

Excellent hotel, service food & comfort. Former hunting lodge which on first impression left me wondering what to expect, but any doubts were quickly allayed upon entering. Welcome was friendly & warm. House "arts & crafts" by nature......lovely wall panelling & room was particularly lovely without being OTT. All home-cooking,even the afternoon tea & cakes welcoming intoduction. Dinner was again, particularly very... More

Wow what an amazing little gem! Staff , the ambiance and the food all make this place very special. It used to be an old hunting lodge , just outside of Thornhill , close to main A road so really easy to find, but back away from the road enough to be quiet. The breakfasts are incredible, choice and quality.... More

Travel in the UK with a dog and looking for 4&5 star Hotels can be really frustrating. As Swiss who are used to take their Dog in almost every Hotel & Restaurant in Switzerland, we find it hard to understand, that they are not liked to be seen in so many places. So we found Trigony and were so happy... More

I am struggling what to say first ! Fabulous welcome, fluffy towels, super soft bedding, and superb cuisine. Our dogs were really welcome, given a goody bag with bones and a map of local walks. This is a must sanctuary for anyone with a hectic lifestyle. Recommend highly to people who appreciate traditional values.
