Spent two nights here. We got one of the newly refurnished rooms and it was beautiful. My mum and Dad got a room that was in need of a little TLC. Our room was 21 my mum was 26. The breakfast was lovely. We found the staff very polite and friendly. The grounds of this hotel are outstanding. I have... More

I have often visited West Lodge Park hotel and recently attended a celebration of the life of a friend , really a party after a funeral. Andrew Beale the CEO of this superb hotel himself served the guests and the charm of the staff and Andrew shone through in a discrete support and appropriate understanding of this special occasion. It... More

Having had an enjoyable evening here a few months ago, we decided to return for a special birthday. Found an offer on Groupon which included dinner, bed and breakfast for £99 which I thought was good value. There was confusion when we made the booking as we were originally told the dinner menu was the Naturally one and not the... More

My husband and I took advantage of the special rate summer deal at £109 which included a three course evening meal, classic double room and full english breakfast to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. We chose this hotel partly because it looked really nice but it was also convenient for commuting into central London as we planned to do some... More

Just returned this morning after staying on a Groupon, Dinner, Bed and Breakfast deal. The Hotel, rooms and grounds are nice, but bar drinks extortionate - £12.50 for vodka, coke and a pint of Carlsberg! The waiters were cutting bread without a cloth on to hold it whilst cutting, just using bare hands, unhygienic! At breakfast, a customer spoke to... More

Thank you for your review. I think you have some valid points, however I don’t agree with others. Firstly, you suggest the staff are knowingly adding supplements to people’s bills – you are wrong with this and I refute your comments. Our staff are honest, and if you had extras on your bill that you didn’t have this was a... More

We stayed overnight whilst visiting family in London. Check - in and welcome were excellent. Porter went well beyond the call of duty to be helpful particularly as we had a mountain of disability paraphernalia to be taken up to our room. Lift was tiny: it was only good luck that wheel chair-bound wife got in at all! Room was... More

Wonderful value stayed one night to celebrate wedding anniversary. We were made very welcome and received good service from all staff. Lovely location, with spacious grounds to walk in and near to the M25 for access. Our room was a little noisy as we were above the main entrance and we had to leave our windows open as it was... A quiet location but really handy off the M25 and 2 minutes to the tube at Cockfosters- which only takes 35 minutes to central London Hotel grounds are wonderful with some interesting trees-including national collections! Staff are fantastic and they all have a "can do" attitude--a bit like the USA! Food and wine good - we will be back

We stayed for 1 night to attend a friend's wedding anniversary party. We were impressed at check in when we were told by the receptionist that she had changed our room as the one we had been allocated was in the grounds of the hotel, and not the hotel itself. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
West Lodge Park Hotel is a beautiful country house hotel set in 35 acres of grounds on the edge of North London. It has been owned and run by three generations of the Beale family since 1945 and now has 59 bedrooms, the Mary Beale Restaurant and Terrace Bar, 8 stunning banqueting rooms, and plentiful free parking. The hotel is located just a mile from Cockfosters Tube station where there is a large car park and frequent trains on the Piccadilly Line to all the sights of central London. Around the hotel is the magnificent Beale Arboretum, with over 800 species of trees from around the world, 2 national collections of hornbeams and swamp cypresses, and plentiful hard paths and interpretive signage. The hotel is also home to the Edward Beale collection of Old master paintings, most of which have been painted by the ancestor of the family, Mary Beale, who was Britain's first professional woman artist, painting at the time of Charles II. It would be a pleasure to welcome you to this beautiful hotel. Andrew BealeManaging DirectorBeales Hotels ... more   less
