Casa del Parque is an amazing place. I stay there everytime I come through San Jose. After only one time, the staff knew me by name. The staff are very friendly and very helpful with just about anything you could need, whether it be scheduling a tour, or figuring out a bus schedule or what the best attractions are in... More

Hotel Casa Del Parque is a backpacker hotel in a luxurious old mansion. In great condition , it has spacious rooms for both dorms and private rooms. The dorm beds have orthopaedic mattresses, and there is a T.V./movie room, share kitchen and outside garden area to sit. There is also a bar where you can buy drinks. The hotel has... More

My friend booked this hostel for our arrival in San Jose based on it's excellent reviews. I have to say I was disappointed with the rooms. We were put in a double room next to Reception. It had double doors which led out to Reception but these had to be locked all the time and the curtains drawn for privacy.... More

The location of this hostel is good. It is near the hotspots of san jose and in the front of the national parc. There is a patio to have a drink or to eat something. You can take coffee or tea for free. De staff is very friendly. We had a deluxe room, but the room was old and and... More

The staff was really kind and friendly to me and explained the house rules as soon as I arrived and were always available in case i needed anything. The kitchen is fully equipped and super clean. We stayed 1 night in the 10 beds dorm for 10$ (Low season). The living and réception are really nice, in a old tipical house, the kitchen is very functionnal. That's it for the good things. There is only 1 bathroom for all the dorm and the double rooms with no private bathroom, with the toilets within. It's located in... More

Greetings from hostel casa del parque, im sorry our little hostel did not your expectations, we apologize that you had problems with the bathrooms, our maid tries to clean it as many times as possible but please have in mind that it is a shared bathroom in the shared dorm. Excellent hostel--el mejor de San Jose. Beautiful and clean, this hostel is affordable and the staff are very friendly. Private suites and dormitory-style accommodations were perfect for a large group traveling together. Would recommend staying here to anyone in the area.

Beautiful house with nice sitting area outside! Huge, comfortable rooms. Super close to city centre but quiet! Bathroom wasn't really clean but I'm sure they would have cleaned it up if we had told them. We enjoyed our stay a lot!

We stayed here twice - once the night we landed in SJ and once the night before we left. First time we had a simple, clean private room. We were tired from our trip and late after flight problems, and really appreciated the staff staying up to take care of us. Left early next morning on a trip which we'd... More
