This place is beautiful. It is an open, old mansion converted into a hostel. I felt more "at home" here than anywhere else on my trip. Very reasonably priced for such a beautiful spot, we paid 12$ each for a dorm bed. This place has multiple hangout spots, great wifi (doesn't reach the dorm upstairs though), a fully prepared kitchen,... More

This hostel is one of the greatest hostels i've stayed in. I felt in love with its arhitecture from the beginning. You really feel like home staying there. Roger, the guy from there, is so helpful and he know everything about Costa Rica off beaten path!

We stayed here for only one night. On one hand it was a good hostel, on the other hand we found it a little strange. When we arrived, our confirmed room was not available so we got the room at the back of the yard. Some kind of loft, but without a door! So no way to lock your room... More

A real traveller's oasis in the best neighbourhood in San Jose. Close to all ammenities. shops, markets (including a super cool organic green fair on Saturdays), museums, parks. Free wifi, coffee and tea. Super genuine, down-to-earth and friendly owner and staff... really will go out of their way to help you. As the smallest hostel in San Jose, and family... More

Given the nice location and positive reviews we reserved a room via booking.com. Upon arrival - after a long day of traveling - the guy at the reception simply told us there was no room available. Apparently their own booking system and that of booking.com are not synchronized so the room that was shown as available was not. Although they... More

It's not just the beautiful interiors and exterior to the place--it's the people. Not only does it attract a respectful clientele, the owner, housekeeper, and manager are some of my favorite people from my two month stay in San Jose. Plus, they have a cat!

The location is central, within walking distance to a huge chunk of San Jose, and an affordable taxi jaunt to the bus station. The staff were so helpful! Friendly, relaxed, and knowledgable without trying to get us to go on every tour there was. The casa itself is gorgeous! Open and clean, with enough space to spread out but home-y... More

We really enjoyed being here! English-talking and friendly staff. The kitchen is clean and they have a tv-room with different movies you can put on. The dorm was actually quite fine, except when people were using the bathroom, just beside the beds, a loud noise came. Definitely a hostel worth staying at for some nights!

The house is really nice.. You feel you get a free tour into an architectural landmark in San Jose. Location is very central. The park next to it is quite pretty.. Quiet. Clean. It has a nice garden. Felt safe. Great value for money paid. If I were to suggest one thing to the owner is to consider changing money... More

Beautiful place from head to toe and very nice people. Near from anywhere and safety. Also good price for good accommodation and a lot of information about trips and trips. If you come to San Jose definitely have to stay in this homily hostel
