I was in Becquai in early Oct. 2014. There were 4 of us and 1 person was sick; this was the only reason we stayed at the guesthouse. It was late evening and we were pressed for time and lacking the energy to tour the island for better options. We were told the owner was offsite and we would be... More

There are actually 2 buildings in this same ownership - to clarify this: 1. "Julie & Isola guesthouse" is the block building, on the relatively busy Front street, which overlooks the ferry dock. This building contains the more expensive Air-conditioned/hot water rooms in cement cubicles. Not too appealing to look at, but I did not stay in this building so... More

We stayed here for only two nights coming from Union Island and going on to St. Vincent. The location of the guesthouse is quite convenient in the centre of Port Elisabeth. There are numerous rrestaurants, bars and heaps of shopping near this guesthouse. Nevertheless it is pretty quiet. The next nice beach is a bit further away (about 10min). You... More

Traveled to Bequia for chiropractic school trip. Julie's isn't fancy but the staff will make you feel like you are at a 5 star hotel.

This is a nice option if you're looking to save costs, but a very similar place that is less expensive, AND steps away from a beautiful beach is Lower Bay guesthouse. It's much quieter and fewer mosquitoes, since it's away from the town and the cement pavement. Both places are bare bones but when you're on Bequia, you shouldn't be... More

As I booked quite last minute and it was the Easter Regatta, I came across Julie's Guest House. It was definitely a clean room and very spacious for a single person, however both nights of my stay felt like I was sleeping next to Dog Kennels and a farm!!! I had no hot water to shower on any of the... More

Well what can i say...... Julie's seems to have a very loyal clientele but my experience was not as I would have liked. Its more like a youth hostel than a guesthouse. Ok, the food is fine and enough of it but the rooms are awful, its noisy, the toilets get blocked, not particularly clean all in all would not... More

I've stayed in Julie's a few times over a period of a few months, that was before i found Kingsville Apts in Lower Bay. Julie has 2 guest houses in Port Elizabeth, i stayed in the original one. It is located just a street behind the ferry dock in Port Elizabeth, very handy it you're running late for the ferry.... More

My wife, Dominique, and I have stayed in Bequia for 23 of the last 25 years. Each year we come `home' to Julie and Isola's. It is, quite simply, if your head and heart are `clean', the best guest house in the world. On the adorable island of Bequia, you are treated with unforced kindness, consideration and care unparallelled in... More
