I have stayed on two separate occasions at Mandy and Lindsay's B and B in Altnaharra. On both occasions it has been absolutely fantastic. On my first visit I had problems with my car and they went out of there way to help and put me in touch with a local mechanic. On my second i got caught out by... More

Mandy & Lindsay run the best B&B in Scotland. We stayed there 2008 for the frist time and came back every year. The area is wonderful in spring, summer and autumn. The food is excellent and generous - Mandy´s onion soup... yum yum! Our room was very comfortable, great view over Loch Naver. Mandy and Lindsay are the best hosts... More

We stopped here for two nights whilst completing the Sutherland Trail. Mandy and Lindsay made us feel very welcome, and they really went out of their way to accommodate our itinerary by picking us up from a walk end one day, and then dropping us off in the same place etc etc, and then picking us up at the end... Mandy was a great hostess, welcoming us with a cup for tea and a 3 course home made meal for a very reasonable price, was very filling, exactly what you needed after a day on the hills! Good filling breakfast too, and flexible on timings! Had everything you needed, sky tv, wood burner and wifi! To summarise, very nice and... More

When we arrived at Altnaharra, we were a little bit worried ... A few houses, no shop ... But As soon I we met Mandy, we were OK ! Before having dinner, we were discussing with her, explaining that we saw a gorgeous red deer next to the road. The dinner was delicious and generous : soup, stew, trifle, ...... More

You drive through beautiful scenery and come across this wonderful B&B. We were welcomed with a big smile and hello. Mandy offered us tea or coffee before showing us up to our room. The view out the window was breathtaking. She said "don't hide out in your room, come and join us for a chat in the lounge." For an... More

My son Murdo and I stayed here on the 30th September while in the area for the Lairg Tup Sales. I cannot commend this B&B highly enough. We availed ourselves of the optional dinner and had the most smashing parsnip soup, succulent vensinon rib steak, apple crumble followed by tea or coffee, all for £10 each! Excellent service, friendly hosts... More

This is the most welcoming B and B I have visited. We had a delicious 3 course supper, the vension casserole was melt in your mouth and very tasty. An enquiry as to which was the best route up Ben More was met with local knowledge, and turned out to be a lovely way up the mountain. Great views of... More

I would like to say thank you to Mandy and Lyndsay for their warm hospitality upon arrival and the night stop before continuing to John O Groat's the following day. I found the location most appealing as I wasn't in the mood for lot's of people and their B & B was perfectly situated in idyllic conditions for me. I... More
