Fabulous nights stay when cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats. Warm welcome, cosy, great food and loads of wildlife on the doorstep. Wild deer grazing the grass outside my window early in the morning. Beautiful views in a quite relaxed setting.

Stayed on the penultimate night of our LeJog cycle, Mandy was an excellent host, food was fantastic, couldn't have asked for a better stay. If only more b&b's were run like this. Thanks again for making our stay such a pleasure and making us feel so welcome. Ignore the cyclists "shed" over the road, this is the place to stay... More

Extremely friendly B & B. You cannot stop yourself warming to Mandy and Lindsay. The room was spacious but a little bit tired but that was the only negative thing I could say. Breakfast and evening meal was excellent especially at £35 pppn! Nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely stay again and wholeheartedly would recommend their establishment. A... More

During horrible weather, we were forced to make a stop in Altnaharra. Mandy was very welcoming, and warmed us immediately with toast and tea. She refused to let us pay. Whilst there, I saw comfortable and clean facilities, a large twin-room with ensuite, and a warm dining room. There is a large garden with animals. The nice exceptional kindness of... More

I stayed here in April 2015 whilst on a solo cycle trip in the area. On arrival I was greeted by the friendly host who gave me tea & biscuits, also secure storage for my cycle. I had previously been offered an evening meal when I initially booked so I had this which was a 3 course meal which was... More

I spent several excellent days at this venue with a friend. We both thought that the venue and the people running it were first class. Nothing was too much trouble and the meals provided were superb. We both felt "at home" and were made to feel like a part of the family. The couple who run the B&B are good... More

Mandy, who greets you, is probably completely bonkers, in the nicest possible way! This was one of our best stays (out of ten) on walking trip in northern Scotland. Big room, huge comfortable, clean bed, picture window, good shower, coffee, tea, kettle etc. Big TV in downstairs lounge, where we were encouraged to make ourselves at home. Mandy provided us... Altnaharra is worth visiting for utter tranquility and unspoilt views. We stayed at The B&B after cycling from Scrabster. On arrival we had tea and biscuits, after showering it was a hearty home cooked meal and after a comfy and blissfully peaceful sleep a great breakfast to set us up for the day. Everything was on offer - we chose... More

The B&B in Altnaharra provided a lovely spacious room with a wonderful view, a TV lounge though we preferred to sit in the conservatory and watch the deer, a delicious 3 course evening meal that satisfied 2 end-to-enders and a super breakfast to send us on our way. All very well so far but then they tried to charge just... More

A group of 5 friends stayed here during our walk along the Sutherland Trail. Lindsay and Mandy were perfect hosts. They were very helpful and excellent value-for-money. We had tea and biscuits on arrival, and an excellent 3-course dinner, plus coffee (all for £10!). Mandy even made a special effort to produce 1 vegetarian meal (which was excellent!). The rooms...
