Beautifully situated overlooking Coldingham bay, if you ask for a beach view room. As I remember there are 2 beach view rooms, 2 garden view ones. Room 1 was a large sunny room with double bed. Problems though if you suffer from a bad back!! - beds too soft with cheap mattresses, and management not overly willing when approached about... More

Just returned from a very pleasant 1 night summer get-away at Dunlaverock Guesthouse. We paid the small extra for a sea-view room which was well worth the money as the views across Coldingham Bay are magnificent. The house is full of character and warmth. The rooms are equipped with a small TV and mini-fridge with refreshments on sale. When we... More

After reading all the positive reviews I thought this B&B was a safe bet, but was ultimately disappointed. It's time to inject some realism here. The Good: Fantastic views, and close to the beach. Room was clean. Proprietors were friendly. Adequate parking. The Niggles: Breakfast wasn't great. My wife's egg was undercooked, the bacon had the consistency of leather, cutlery... More

We have just spent two nights here and really didn't want to leave. The house and the owners are full of character and give a really warm welcome to their guests. The star of the show has to be the location, with outstanding views over Coldingham Bay. We were blessed with lovely weather and sat out watching the waves and... More

We stayed at Dunlaverock B&B early April this year with our 4 yo son. Even in the fog and clouds the B&B provided stunning views of Coldingham Bay. Bill was very friendly and helpful and Gus was a very well behaved dog, our 4yo bonded with him very well! Bill provided tea and biscuits in the lounge when we arrived... More

We stayed for one night and where glad we did. Outstanding location. Windows take full advantage at breakfast room and in the lounge. The lovely couple lit a fire for us and we had the lounge to ourselves on our evening. Licensed which is nice! We had a garden room- 2 smaller windows but amazing views and bright room. Breakfast... Dunlaverock guesthouse is ideally situated on the hill overlooking Coldingham Bay. Not 'modernised & up-to date' by any means, but a welcoming and comfortable place to spend a little time where even Gus the black Labrador gets in on the welcome that greets you at the door. We stayed for a short weekend and wished it could have been longer.... More

As others have said, stunning position and sea view rooms definitely worth the extra. Patio area for tea is absolutely delightful. The owners are really lovely and give you a very warm welcome to their home. The building itself is beautiful, as are the contents, certainly has a warm lived in feel to it, maybe a little worn round the... More

We spotted Dunlaverock from the cliffs near St Abbs on a day out this summer. A B&B next to the sea, takes dogs (we have 2 Dalmatians) and a hearty Full Scottish to start the day - a perfect escape from the city. We had a pot of tea & shortbread in the lounge, while Gus (resident black lab) and... More
