This is a 4* B&B and was a huge disappointment. It apparently won 'small hotel of the year' in 1997 or so, but sadly not a penny has been spent on it since as far as I could see. It wasn't cheap by Highlands B&B standards at £32 a night but:
* our room in the extension over the road was very, very small (barely room to walk around the bed). I suggested a discount for the size of the room but this was turned down.
* it felt like an old peoples home - it can't have been decorated in 20 years
* I picked up 5 or 6 books at random from the bookshelf in the sitting room. All were from Edinburgh Library and published before 1982 (with a 'withdrawn' stamp, so no doubt bought at a car boot sale). One highlight was something like 'Caring for Your Pet Rabbit' - not a lot of interest to the majority of visitors I imagine. There were no useful books of local interest that I could see except for AA guides etc. that they were listed in
