I went to the fantastic location of loch eck in April when the weather was wonderful, and the whistlefield inn was the cherry on the cake. We would have liked to have stayed, but they had some kitchen staff problems which was out of their hands, but we went for drinks in the evening and I really enjoyed my time... More

Drove from Glasgow for lunch. Excellent food, the Balmoral Burger is a must! We are actually here on holiday from Abu Dhabi. Very impressed with the hotel. Staff (Hannah and Pete) were friendly and welcoming and service was excellent. Had a tour of the rooms which are very well equipped and comfortable. We will certainly stay over on our next... More

I spent a lovely afternoon in this gorgeous little inn and I can't recommend it enough! Hannah and Pete were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, the food was delicious and I didn't want to leave. For a warm welcome and some lovely food I highly recommend you pay it a visit.

My wife and I, with my grandson, visited the Inn this march 2013, the girls in the bar were wonderful, and could not do enough to make us feel welcome. Pity about the manager, he could not care less if we were there or not, when it came to showing us to a table, he said you can sit in... More

Had a lovely bar meal here following a recommendation from a friend whilst staying in the area. The menu is not extensive which I like, but still has something for everyone. I had the Balmoral burger which was served in a very tasty Italian roll. I also enjoyed a side of Greek salad. My husband had haddock and chips which... More

Since the new owners have taken over the food, service and the general look of the Inn have got so much better. We often have a wee drive out at the weekends to the Whistlefield and have seen a great change in the past few months. The food is great and nothing is too much trouble with the staff for... More

We were staying in the area and came here for our final evening, only two others in the dining room but very cosy atmosphere, just the right touch of service, good menu well cooked, try it. The salmon trio and the haggis with brie were just right. The Arran bitter is a nice accompaniment as is the the dessert -... More

We were there in mid November for a "walking holiday". The rooms were being refurbished, whilst we were there, with new power showers yippee. The service was both attentive and friendly the fact that they had no problem with us having breakfast at 10.30Am after returning from a "walking trip" is a big plus point. A drying room for "walkers"... More

I have stayed here a number of times over the last three years and had a great time. Sadly this time I was greated by a dirty room which still had rubbish from the last guests!! The pub itself was nice albeit not as welcoming as previous times. The food was a positive. However,Sadly I feel I will look elsewhere... More
