Enjoyed a lovely, fresh lunch with friends; choosing from an extensive menu with loads of locally sourced produce, especially local scallops and langoustines Food was beautifully presented and really great quality. A warm, friendly place which deserves great parses for offering such standards in a small, quiet village.

This wonderful cottage is owned by the Colintraive Hotel. The hotel was full so we were offered their self catering option Eilean Dhu. We couldn't have asked for more, the amazing open plan top floor with large picture window and balcony makes the most of the views across the water to Bute. A wood burning stove, plenty of bathrooms and... More

Had an enjoyable stay in this lovely little hotel! Room was really comfortable and the staff were all very friendly. The food was all extremely tasty but the highlight must be the linguine pescatore(a seafood delight!). Great hotel in a beautiful location!

My husband and I stayed in October for 3 glorious nights at this small hotel. Our room had wonderful views across to the Isle of Bute. The bed was sumptuous. We ate in the friendly bar although there is a lovely restaurant. The food exceptionally good and absolutely all home made. We both look forward to going again and taking... More

I have only ever written good reviews because I do my homework and only select destinations that have excellent review - so having chosen Colintraive Hotel my expectations were realistic for a place at £95 per night. On arrival we were shown to our room "The Cala room" - It was basic and although we did not expect a sea... More

First of all surprised about the food comment. Our Seafood linguine has lots of Seafood in it, sorry it doesnt mention fish! Its funny I was sure you were enjoying it as you were wearing most of it down your white trousers! Now the problem was your shower. I took your key immediately you said there was a problem, I... We knocked at their door on an early Sunday evening because our car had broken down after crossing with the ferry. We found there warm friendly people who went really out of their way to help our family. The atmosphere was great and we stayed for a dinner of traditional local food, really good fresh tasty food. The hotel looked... More

The hotel looks very "preloved" from the outside but with one of the many stunning views around. In a very quiet spot with an excellent outside area to eat. We had booked for sunday lunch in the restaurant. More shabby chic inside-supported by some superb photographs of seascapes with prints for sale.Very clean and nicely presented table in a bay... We have stayed here, been for lunch and purchased artwork. Our most recent visit was for lunch when we sat outside in the sun. The last time we stayed we had a double room with a view down to the water. The food is lovely - we love the local seafood. Patricia the owner is always very welcoming and we... More
