This is a lovely small hotel, very much run with the personal touch and extremely comfortable. The food is delicious with an emphasis on local seafood. The room was excellent, with more than adequate drawers/cupboards for clothes (often a problem), a modern bathroom and a spectacular view over the Kyles. The price is not bargain basement but is eminently fair... More

This was the first booked hotel on our Scotland tour...and probably one of our favorites. Charming, well run, great food...and in spite of the weather...a great start to our tour. The bar area had a very local flavor, which we loved. And in spite of its location, which is in the country, a very good starting point for touring. Would... More

This is a small hotel, pub, restaurant (with shop and Post Office out the back) near the ferry at Colintraive. It is friendly and comfortable with a relaxed atmosphere. We ate twice in the bar and along with our three teenagers enjoyed the excellent, wholesome food and our interactions with the barmaid who was happy to provide local information. The... More

We had a simply wonderful lunch here yesterday. The welcome was very warm and friendly and the food was very, very nice. Looking forward to going back on Saturday with the family for dinner. My wife had fish pie and I had the most fantastic seafood tagliatelle dish with a rich tomato sauce - delicious.

Arriving by charter yacht after a long beat up the West Kyle of Bute is not everyone's idea of fun but it is certainly ours and having turned at the head of the Kyles we picked up one of the very conveniently laid hotel mooring buoys which are but a short dingy ride away from the hotel. Suitably ashore safely... More

we didn't stay, just went for dinner. lovely meal, certainly not pub fare. welcoming owner and fabulous waitress, enjoyed sitting in the cosy lounge by the fire, which was put on very kindly especially for us, rather than the old chaps bit.

We arrived for a one night stay during a cycling trip and were delighted to be upgraded to a beautiful room overlooking the water and with views to the Bute ferry. Friendly owner Patricia made us very welcome and dinner (local seafood and amazing fish pie) was wonderful. A peaceful night's sleep was followed by a delicious breakfast, which we... More

Arrived at Colintraive on the Bute ferry which docks 100 yards away. Very good first impressions, there was only one other room occupied so we were given a free upgrade. Staff were very welcoming and friendly and we were shown to a room on the front with views over the Kyles of Bute. Room was clean, comfortable and tastefully furnished.... More

Colintraive Hotel was a welcome haven after a days trek across the Isle of Bute. On arrival off the ferry, our party of 4 was greeted by a friendly member of staff and we were shown straight to our rooms - we were upgraded to the best sea view rooms as the hotel wasn't busy. The rooms are beautiful with... More
