We spent our fairytale wedding, and whole week in a fairytale castle. Stunning castle, stunning scenery, perfect setting for a close personal wedding. Stayed at Forter castle with close friends for a week, married in the small chapel, and later in the week spent Burns night in the perfect scottish setting. Not an imposing castle, but warm, homely and friendly.... more

We spent a week at Forter Castle in July 2006 We were wed in the Chapel and stayed for our honeymoon. I have to say that this is the most idyllic setting for the most perfect small intimate wedding that I could imagine. Nothing negative at all, it was just perfect. John's food superb, the hampers left for us, ideal.... more

We were looking for a place with a diffrence for our daughters wedding and we found FORTAR CASTLE. IT had everything we wanted sleeps 10 , takes dogs and had a small private chapel. Amazing place, we arranged to get wed at Forter Castle in April 2005 and it was the most fabulous week. The Pooley's made us very welcome (thank you!), and Dot McLean and her helpers worked very hard on the day of our wedding, providing all the catering, inc drinks service.
