This small old hotel is in a village facing a quiet river at the entrance to the Crozon peninsula in Finistere. It has been very well renovated, with comfortable beds new bathroom and wifi and service was excellent. Very good value. Only possible drawback is that there is no restaurant in the village -- one must go to Chateaulin, which... More

Excellent place in an excellent location. Loved the tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom, thoroughly impressed with the products. We only stayed 1 night and wish we could've stayed longer. The breakfast time could be a bit more flexible as it's only available from 08.30-09.30.

On our recent cycle tour of Brittany we stayed in varying types of places from motels to 4 star. We all (two daughters and parents) agreed that The Old Salt House was the most welcoming and charming place in a stunning setting beside the Brest to Nantes canal.

A warm welcome from Miles and nothing would seem to be too much trouble. The Old Salt House is spotlessly clean, stylishly decorated and the extra touches make it quite special...a tray with kettle, tea and coffee (not usually provided in French B&B's), Molton Brown toiletries and a fridge on the landing with complimentary wine and beer. Our bed was... More

The bedroom is large, beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent (so is the café). Mile is cool. Everything is fine. We spent 21 nights in Bretagne (hotel or B&B), and Chateaulin was the best stay we had.

Wonderful location, wonderful decoration, wonderful service ! The house is authentic and has lots of charm. Port-Launay is a charming little vilalge a $nd so is next-door Chateaulin. What more could you want? Que demande le peuple?

We stayed on the top floor in the Gwenn ha Du room. This has a very comfortable bed and small window but with a nice view of the canal. The bathroom is fine. The complementary water, beer and wine is a nice touch. Breakfast is a simple continental affair but lots of it and a good variety - it is... More

Wonderful facilities and comfortable room, very attentive hosts, great area for exploring and the best croissants are made right next door to ensure breakfasts are something special. A break to be remembered.
