We held our 30th Wedding Anniversary dinner at the hotel and were 25 guests in total. The majority of our party booked rooms to stay and these were fantastic with the best views in this area. Try and book rooms at the rear of the bedroom block as these have a small balcony overlooking the river and mountains beyond. The... More

I stayed in this hotel for work purposes and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel the rooms, the service, the friendliness of the staff and above all the superb restaurant and the top quality food served therein! I did not expect this in the "back of beyond"! Although the room was on the small side (and I... More

Get there early and they have a special cheaper menu which in the past we have found to be fantastic value. The setting and the views are as good as ever but I think they may have compromised on the quality of the early food- the pork was dry; the brisket of beef so grisly it had to go back.... More

The hotel looked good online, but looks can be deceiving--fortunately, this time they weren't. The rooms are compact but well planned and tastefully done. Soothing colors, soft surfaces, modern furniture. Make sure you ask for a room on the back with a balcony. (I don't know what the other rooms are like.) Although the hotel is on a main road,... More

We came across the hotel as we were returning to Devon after visiting Aberystwyth University Open Day. We saw the view that the hotel commands as we were driving along and stopped on speck to see what the menu looked like. What a find ! We went for the fixed price menu and were very impressed at the quality and... More

Stayed here for 1 night recently, Location excellent, Staff excellent, food more than excellent (as was shown by the fact that it was difficult for them to find a table for us - which ended in our favour cos we ate out on the terrace overlooking the river) plus they do not do weddings or functions so no noisy revellers... We have stayed at the Llanwenarth a number of times and eaten independently in the restaurant. I have never found the food or service anything other than excellent. The hotel is small and cosy - rooms are compact but very pleasant. Breakfast overlooking the river amazing. Would recommend to anyone.

After viewing a selection hotels and cottages on the internet, we (two adults and one baby) decided upon the Llanwenarth. It had ample parking, provided a view of the valley and river, supplied a cot and had wifi. The service was exemplary and staff were graceful. The trip was out of season and we were able to book a room... More

After being let down by the local lamb and flag on the food front we stumbled apon this hotel on our return to our b&b. After having a wonderful meal that evening we decided to book a room for the next evening, even though we had planned to go further towards snowdon. We arrived at 4 ish and had a... More
