A lovely pub with good food and good portion sizes... A warm welcoming atmosphere suitable for families as well as friends and couples. A good size car park with plenty of room.. I will come again next time I'm in town..

We had planned to eat in the 3 Horseshoes in Brecon but it was closed after our walk along the nearby Monmouthshire canal so we headed towards Abergavenny and stumbled across The Lamb and Flag Inn run by Brains. We're glad we did. It was about 1600 on a Wednesday and my daughter, wife and I sat down to eat.... More

We stayed for two nights at the weekend while I was away on business. I chose the hotel because it was reasonably priced and conveniently located for what I wanted and, to be honest, I didn't expect much! However, I was very pleasantly surprised! The staff were friendly and very efficient, the food and choice of wine was excellent. I... More

We stayed over the Abergavenny Food Festival weekend and the room was cosy, but perfectly adequate, with en suite facilities. The location is fine for walking, the Sugarloaf mountain, and Abergavenny town centre is just over 20 mins walk. Plenty of parking by the pub, which has a lot of history as a wayside inn, outside seating, and a safe,... More

We (a couple and one child) visited the Lamb and Flag at 6pm on Friday 8th August. I asked the grumpy barman if we could eat and ordered some drinks. I wasn't offered a menu so helped myself to some from the bar. We sat outside and when we were ready we ordered our food at the bar as no... More

I have stayed in hotels in Europe (posh ones) - This is an Inn, with wonderful staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They are warm, friendly, welcoming, helpful, and lovely! Everyone of them was happy. They were very busy, very dedicated to serving their customers joyfully, and took pride in what they did. The food was good, (I... More

We stayed here on Saturday 23rd May for 1 night. On arrival we were greeted & shown to our spacious en suite room 5 which was modern with a view of the mountains. We went down to the bar & they had reserved a table for us. We were served promptly & the food was excellent. The room was quiet... More
