We had our wedding reception in this hotel and from the onset we were completely looked after as were our guests. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner (william) and his staff. Due to our positive experiences we go to the hotel for any family function, for the odd meal of an evening and Christmas parties. No matter how... More

myself, my partner and his family went to the beggers reach hotel for mothers day on a Sunday afternoon. We had to wait ages before we were seated although we had a table booked. after being seated our starters came quite quickly although some stuff was missing e.g no croutons on the soup, no butter for the rolls. then with... Odd place to get to. Main hotel with separate buidlings with further rooms. Hotel bar and food very good. Room was OK, bathroom a little tired. It had been cleaned but not to a very high standard. Reception staff average, particualrly when checking out in the morning - when I am paying them! I would stay there again though if... More

Strange place this. A lovely location if a little remote, decidedly average food that is overpriced and embarrassingly arrogant staff. If you don't mind being tutted at when you ask for something, and don't mind being asked to leave the bar when a function is on (although you are a paying resident) then visit.

I have read the reviews on this hotel and can only say that the negative ones were either very unlucky or that they are proffesional moaners. I had my daughters wedding reception here and can only report that the attention we all recieved was second to none. the manager / owner was extreamly helpful in all respects and went out... More

Earlier this month during a day trip, I had the misfortune of meeting friends for sunday lunch. Manager was rude on entering, after shouting down the telephone "NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO" he stated that he was talking to his child!!!!!!!!!!!! Starter was melon, served warm, can only think that... More

Recently stayed here with my partner for a long weekend-where do I start!!Firstly on the positive side the location is great, sadly this is the only positive. The staff here are absolutely ghastly,in particular the manager was extremely repulsive. His attitude and customer service skills are quite dire.I dont think I've ever had the misfortune to meet anyone quite so ghastly,EVERYTHING was too... we had a 50th anniversary party at the Beggars Reach for 80 people. Despite lots of notice and several discussions with them they said they were only able to provide a buffet because of the small number of guests! On the night there were three salads, one was just lettuce and one was lettuce and tomatoes, there were then three... More
