Stayed two nights at this relaxed and friendly hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Food in the restaurant was excellent and variations to the published menu caused no problem at all. Bar served a great pint of real ale. This is a dog friendly hotel and our dog was welcom in all areas. Ideally situated for the beautiful countryside of... More

In early 2015 I was returning from Devon to the Midlands via the M5. Traffic was appalling so we decided to cross over into Chepstow and return via a pretty Route. Whilst on the M48 suspension bridge I happened to see the Beachley peninsula and when i returned home I google mapped it. The old ferry inn was indicated and... More

Went there for lunch on Saturday. First time eating there since this time last year, as it is 12 miles from home. It has recently had new owners, and you can see they are trying to improve the place. Obviously as it is summer, they have concentrated on the garden which overlooks the Severn, the old ferry slipway and the... More

Had a Birthday celebration lunch in the Old Ferry restaurant, there were only two tables occupied and the service was appalling, too slow and the food was overcooked. Two of our party had the Trout from the specials menu, the trout was not thoroughly cleaned and was overcooked. In all a disappointing meal and we shan't be repeating the experience.

The hotel is in considerably worse condition then when we used to visit it 40 years ago when we lived in the area. The people are very nice, the young chef was very friendly and produced some good food. The breakfast was nice, however a full English was put in front of us the first morning without being asked so... More

Expensive for mediocre food. Had arranged to meet family mid way between Bristol/Weston and Cardiff on the strength of the advertised OAP menu. Arrived to find they 'hadn't done it for ages' despite it still being a feature on their website. This could have been good value and worth the visit, but the remaining menu was expensive for the quality... More

Food is expensive and small in size left still hungry. Salad was mouldy and slimy also contains slugs not that the manager believed us and argued with us. Salad was replaced with another slimy salad. Expect to have a dog hover on your lap waiting for you to feed him or drop food. disgusting asked for dog to be called... More

My husband and I recently ate here and as a vegetarian I was pleasantly surprised by a varied menu that made it almost hard to choose. I opted for the falafel on cous cous with a delicious spicy sauce and it all but blew me away! They also have an extensive ice cream menu which for a fan of such... More

We decided to give our tried and tested haunts around Chepstow a rest and went to the Old Ferry Inn for Sunday lunch for a change. Despite being fairly local, it was our first visit and our first impressions of the place were very positive. The pub is in a great location just under the old Severn Bridge so there... More
