Arriving on the Offa's Dyke Path in the picturesque Llangatwg Lingoed was a highlight of our walk, and our ascent from the south past pretty Cwm Farm up the hill to the Old Rectory was rewarded with a kind and warm welcome from Karen. We were in the self-catering cottage, used as a B&B for our stay. It was faultlessly... More

This is the best guesthouse we've ever stayed at. I didn't know such nice people still existed till I met the owners-Karen +Paul. Lovely house with Lovely Large rooms+ Best Breakfast ever. Oh+a great pub 2 mins away in the midst of breathtaking scenery. What more could a body ask for. Thank you Karen and Paul.

We wondered where the Sat. Nav. was taking us, but what a find. A wonderful warm welcome in comfortable surroundings. Where else can you find good accommodation, a lovely church and a quality pub with food, all working in close harmony. A great experience. Julia & Roger.

Would recommend the Dean room as it was very spacious and the 4 poster bed very comfortable. A great full English sets you up for the day. Situated in a beautiful village with some great pubs that give you 10% discount on food while staying at The Old Rectory.

I stayed here for one night as I walked Offas Dyke National Trail. As I climbed the steep hill in the hot sunshine at the end of a long day I looked up to the building at uthe top. Wondering if anyone was watching me. Little did I know that the window I was looking at was the window of... More

Stayed at The Old rectory for 4 nights while hiking the Three Castle Walk with my brother in Sept. 2013. Karen & Paul were friendly & gracious hosts. Our RM #4 was terrific, spacious & comfortable. We took our dinners down the lane at The Hunter Moon tavern, which is now under new ownership & open 7 days a week.... More

Can't speak highly enough of this B&B where we stayed for two nights during our week of walking a part of Offa's Dyke. Both a beautiful and tranquil location. Wonderfully comfortable rooms and great breakfasts. Absolutely loved it. Would stay again in a shot!

My husband and I recently stayed here after a friends wedding. The rooms were big and clean, views amazing and the breakfast hit the spot. It was very reasonably priced and the owners were helpful and made us feel welcome. Would definitely stay again.

I stayed with my aged parents for just the one night at the Old Rectory. We had excellent rooms - very clean and well decorated, en-suite facilities. Delicious cooked breakfast in the morning by host Paul, who we had also met the night before at the bar of the highly recommended Hunters Moon Inn. Wifi works although internet speed is... More

After walking 34 miles and arriving late, we couldn't have had a better welcome than at The Old Rectory and Hunters Moon Inn ( a few yards up the road ). The bed was very comfortable. The room beautifully decorated and very quiet. Next door along the corridor was a superb shower and bathroom. My friends slept is an en-suite... More
