Three of us walking the Dyke stayed here last week. Smashing traditional village pub. All of the staff "go the extra mile" to give you good food, good service and importantly good ale. The rooms are lovely. The church is a must see.

After a very long walk along Offas Dyke we arrived tired and hungry. Half Expected it to be closed but instead got the warmest welcome, a proper atmosphere, great food and real ale. And then to top it off a lift back to the local cottage we were renting by the landlord Jim. That is what you call true customer... More

Bucket loads of atmosphere, excellent food and beer, family friendly, utterly inviting by locals and most importantly the passionate landlords and barmaid! In the top 6 pubs I've ever been to in Britain. Well worth a slight detour.

12 of us had gone for a long and beautiful but exhausting walk and booked into the Hunters Moon for a late Sunday lunch afterwards. The pub felt really welcoming. The food took a little while to arrive (we noticed because we were hungry!) but when it arrived we realised why: it's proper home cooking. I had the vegetarian option,... More

We visited this place on a cold wet and miserable January evening. To be honest we were not really expecting the place to be open as it is in the middle of nowhere. First impressions are great. Nice big wood burning stove that was chucking out the heat so the place was nice and warm. The welcome was good from... More

After walking up Skirrid we had a great Sunday lunch with homemade puddings. Very welcoming to the children, and a good choice of food for them as they offered to cook anything on the bar snack menu. Very friendly people and we even met granny Beryl, the famous pudding maker. Fab food, fab setting and most importantly to my husband... More

Spent the week in Llangattock so the Hunters Moon became our local. Great new owners that truly want to put life into the pub and give locals and visitors a great place to eat and drink. The food is excellent both bar and restaurant. The pub made a great week away even better. Thanks to all of you, shame we... More

We went a couple of weeks ago for Sunday lunch - fantastic! We live in the area and have tried many, many places for Sunday lunch - this is as good as we've found (in 20 years). The price is very reasonable with more than I could eat although it was a shame to waste such lovely food. We have... More

Following a visitors book recommendation, we stopped off at the Hunters Moon hoping to try their Sunday lunch menu. Unfortunately they were fully booked - our own fault as we hadn't reserved a table - so we opted for a fabulous pint of Wye Valley ale instead. Having checked with the his brother, the chef, the co-owner suggested returning later... More
