We stayed at the pub as part of our walk along Offa's Dyke Path. Rating the location from that perspective is a 5/5, since it is only 100m or so away from the path. The room we had wasn't very spacious, but we didn't expect it to be so (it is a pub after all) so we were happy about... More

Friendly pub, the owners were very welcoming. The food was excellent both in the evening and the breakfast. The room was very quaint and cosy. Excellent shower and comfortable bed. Would love to come back in the summer.

We spent a week in the Old Forge, a 13c Welsh longhouse, a few yards from this excellent pub. The Hunters Moon was taken over a couple of years ago by Chris and Jim and their families. They run a fantastic welcoming pub with excellent local ale and food, and are open every day from 12 noon. We found everyone... More

Mid way on our walk on Offa's Dyke the Hunters Moon Inn was a real oasis. Friendly welcome, good food (great Welsh lamb chops perfectly cooked), good beer. The room was not large but had a very comfortable good size bed and a good bathroom and decent shower.

What à pleasant surprise!! Food is incredible as is the hospitality!! Definitely à must go if you visit Wales! The family who runs it has travelled all over the globe. That explains the relaxed Vibe...And to top it of, the Winelist is top notch

We were renting a cottage in the village and ate Sunday lunch here twice. It was delicious on both occasions......rare roast beef with perfectly cooked accompaniments , including proper tasting carrots , potatoes and sprouts. Very good puddings to follow. My daughter and her boyfriend stayed overnight too, and found the room clean and comfortable and enjoyed a great breakfast... More

I don't know if we did something to offend them or maybe they just don't like children but we certainly didn't feel very welcome. We went just for a drink as its in the good beer guide and the ale was excellent but we wont be going again.

Don't miss Granny's puddings! The rest of our evening meal was excellent too but you've got to have one of her puds... Small but clean, attractive and comfortable room overlooking pub garden, with a small but clean and modern shower-room. (It's an ancient building so you can't expect big rooms). We'd happily stay here again.

The kind of a quiet traditional pub with filling food and good local beer/cider at reasonable prices that anyone walking Offa's Dyke hopes to find after a hard day. The staff and customers will be more than happy to chat.
