We went for a late lunch my friend had heard they were doing a fruit curry which intrigued her we stated with a mushroom and walnut Tapas shared between the 2 of us really flavoursome. Followed by my friend having the fruit curry which was served in half of a pineapple with a bowl of rice on the side I... More

We love it here and often drive the hour or so from Cardiff for a relaxed lunch. The food is excellent and the beer is even better - you can expect to find at least half a dozen real ales on offer and several proper ciders. The staff are great and the pub isn't just dog friendly they are almost... More

Was almost put off by previous reviews, but decided to try it out for an evening meal. While the food did take time to prepare it was well worth the wait. Only ever managed to try the main courses but we went back on 3 occasions.

What a mess this place is. Wish I had checked it out here before I ventured out there. From the mouldy toilets to the dirty mustard jars every inch of this place is in need of a severe clean. Even the memorabilia and trophies was caked in thick black dust. There's no excuse for months worth of build up. Look... More

We visited The Clytha Arms as the result of several recommendations including The Good Beer Guide and 'Which' magazine. It is in a lovely setting on the old back road from Abergavenny to Raglan and car parking is easy. We went for a light lunch on the way to Raglan; I recall visiting this pub many years ago before the... More

I visited the Clytha Arms this evening for my 22nd birthday with my fiancé and parents and I can't find a word strong enough to describe my disappointment. We arrived at 7.15pm in order to be at our table which was booked for 7.30pm, we were asked to take a seat at the bar to wait for our table, we... More

If your a lover of real ales and ciders then this is a must visit! My wife, neighbours and I always make our way to the Clytha for the cider festival and also the beer festival. Little disappointed this year that the ale festival was cancelled but we still enjoyed the band, atmosphere and beers. On the downside the dog... More

Dogs rule and humans come close after but we liked it that way with our two Labradors! Yes it's. little tired and closer attention to cleanliness would make this place exceptional but as a dog friendly pub we felt really comfortable and welcomed. Food was excellent but a little pricey! £15 for one course seemed a little steep. Ale selection... More

Had a lovely dinner sitting out in the garden. We girls arrived first and we stood at the bar chatting with the locals - for girls read a couple of middle-aged women who are more used to being invisible in a bar. When the chaps finally arrived we enjoyed great cooking and good local beer. The two bar staff who... More
