Lovely place with charming rooms and excellent and interesting food. We had a great weekend! Beautiful surroundings and a feeling of "off the grid". There is basically no mobile phone reception which basically is good..

Lovely pub in beautiful surroundings. Good service but Sunday Lunch was let down by the Roast Spuds - chewy, bland and clearly warmed up. Shame, cos the rest of the food was lovely. How hard is it to have freshly roasted spuds? At just shy of £13 for a Sunday roast, I expected exceptional food.

Four of us met up at The Bell for lunch before continuing into the Black Mountains for a long weekend. Although the place was fairly quiet for a Friday the menu was interesting and the food was beautifully cooked and presented. The staff were relatively new (I understand there had been a recent change in ownership) but they were attentive,... More

visited on a Sunday morning, we were greated by a sour face waitress who reluctantly took our order for tea although the selection of hot drinks was good. we sat outside the back which was pleasant, the gardens looked beautiful but the whole place looked like it needed a bit of tlc. lots of people sitting outside had their dogs... This place is lovely, beautiful location, lovely, spacious, comfortable rooms, and the breakfast and dinner were spot on. I saw some of the other reviews and I have to disagree, its a great little retreat and worth visiting, with really excellent grub.

Its previous USP was as a dining destination, but no longer, sadly. We went expecting amazing food, but found the menu unbalanced, and over salted. Don't go for the food although what you get will be average pub standard. Our room was directly over the kitchen and unbearably hot, even with aircon, lovely in the winter maybe. The bed was... More

I stayed at The Bell for a couple of days with a friend. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Bathrooms huge and luxurious with a choice of bath and shower. The atmosphere and service is relaxed, friendly and very home from home but at the same time ultra professional. It's so great to stay in a place where... More

We (my husband and I) have never been to Wales. This was such a beautiful place. Weather was beautiful. My husband had the crab starter and pork belly main i had the asparagus velouet and duck three ways. The food was great, especially the duck. Barman Neil knows his wines! Such a beautiful beautiful setting with the river running past.... More

After a mix up in our booking this hotel excelled itself. A beautiful room in this hotel that grows their own flowers and produce where possible. The hotel is in a very quiet location and boasts, quite correctly, a great selection of beer, excellent wine cellar and exceptional menu using local produce wherever possible. The staff were friendly and helpful... More

We went to the Bell last year around October mainly because friends had said it was very good, and I must agree with them it was, the welcome from all of the staff was good, the food was excellent and the wine list a treasure find considering "its in Wales" and not "London". So having received an invitation to join... More
