Because there were no previous reviews, I booked our stay on a whim based on the Staniel Cay Cottages' website. We loved it so much that we are returning in Feb 09 - and we travel rarely - and on a fixed budget. My husband and I were hooked by the friendly reception and easy candor offered us when we got off the plane from Nassau. The 'airport' is a runway with a bus-stop shelter and great little deli. We were met by a lovely lady who drove us to our destination in a golf cart, the main mode of transport. We knew we were in for a treat when we went through the round-about that is laid out in white stones in the shape of a heart - it's a "heart-about".
The cottage we stayed in is called 'Shipwrecked' - painted by Bernadette Chamberlain (as are all the cottages in unique themes - check out her gallery, she's an amazing artist) and we awoke each morning to being 'marooned on a paradise island' - but then, Staniel Cay is just that.
