This past six months we found ourselves the sole clients of two resorts that specialize in scuba diving: Riding Rock Lodge in San Salvador, Bahamas (Christmas 2008) and Guanaja, Bay of Islands, Honduras (Easter 2009). Both had outstanding diving opportunities; we did 24 dives over 2 weeks at Christmas and 13 dives at Easter. Though we were the sole clients... more

Don't expect luxury but expect to leave with great memories. The staff is attentive, the view is great and the scuba staff is super. The Riding Rock Inn is remote so come ready to enjoy the Bahamian Out Islands and the beautiful island. Take a tour of the island (bring a cooler of beer with you) and enjoy the sights.... more

We went to San Salvador not for the diving which is most people's interest here but for the bonefishing. The Inn was very nice indeed, frankly much better than we had anticipated. we had a superior room and this is definitely worthwhile as the standard rooms whilst adequqte are a bit small. The room was fine, very clean and comfortable with a... more

If you are going to the Riding Rock, be prepared for simplicity. The rooms are clean, but nothing luxurious. The maid service is excellent and the people are very nice. The food at the resort is good, but don't expect speedy service in the mornings. Make sure you take plenty of mosquito repellent with plenty of "Deet", Deep Woods worked... more

I decided to spend a night on one of the "out" islands as part of a trip to Paradise Island because I wanted to see what life in The Bahamas is really like - saying you've seen The Bahamas if you've only been to Paradise Island is like saying you've seen the USA if you've only been to Manhattan. I... more

Had been there a few years ago and enjoyed it. Unfortunately the hotel itself and the food have gone downhill. Quite shabby rooms.Little or no hot water The diving was still great but all due to the boat and dive captain and staff who seemed to try and carry the place, inspite of mechanical problems on the boat. One boat we... more

We were at Riding Rock Inn, San Salvador Island January 13-20, 2007 This facility is a bit dated very clean and nice. For the price you pay to stay, eat and dive, Riding Rock Inn is an incredible value. The owner reported that they are to start upgrading the entire facility very soon. The room we stayed in was in... more

Riding Rock is one of two choices on San Salvador. Their web sight is informative but shows the resort much nicer than it actually is. The room price was reasonable for The Bahamas and the rooms were adequate and clean. The hotel staff is helpful and as friendly as they need to be. We heard the hotel was damaged by... more

Riding Rock Inn is a wonderful place to go, if you really want just peace and quiet (and no distractions) or if you want some great scuba diving. The resort consists of a lobby/dining/bar building, a single story bank of rooms, a two story bank of larger, newer rooms (about 40 rooms total), a small pool and a very nice... more
