As soon as we arrived, we felt right at home. We had a large group and they treated us like family. They were very accommodating for our special requests and the food was amazing. The boat captains and dive masters brought on the dives we wanted to do and gave us great flexibility in what dive profiles we wanted to... More

Dear Mark: Our thanks to you and your group for coming to stay at Riding Rock. You could pay no higher compliment than you did by saying you felt at home like part of the family. That is what the Williams family is all about and has been since their father operated the property back in the 1960s. So glad... More

Key Focus for visiting San Salvador Bahamas is diving and high sea fishing. Philosophy of eat, sleep, dive. The dive Operation is good, offers all you need. Relaxing easy diving, do not expect any sensations. Hotel is small and nice, style old fasioned, however good for a dive vacation. Interior design is OK. Food: Do not expect too much, it... More

Dear Kurk: Our thanks for your posting. You summarized the philosophy of the resort perfectly with eat, sleep dive. Riding Rock and San Sal are indeed as unhurried as they have been through the ages - quiet, friendly and unspoiled. It leaves our guests with plenty of time to be on the receiving end of the traditional Bahamian hospitality Michelle... More

I just returned home from a week of scuba diving in San Salvador, Bahamas. We stayed at the Riding Rock Resort and Marina. First, I'll tell you that it's not a brand new, fancy resort. It's an older resort that they work hard at maintaining. The rooms are clean and everything works. That's what's important to me when I go... More

Dear Rasnik: Thank you for posting such a thorough posting. Riding Rock has been in operation since the 1960's and it is no small feat to keep several steps ahead of the Caribbean environment but the owners and staff do prevail! We are very glad to hear you enjoyed your room, the food (yum) and most of all the quite... More

Most people won't have heard of San Salvador, which is kind of a good thing. You feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, yet still have access to all modern conveniences (unless you count Starbucks and fast food chains among life's necessities). Michelle is a gracious hostess, greeting you by name and making sure you are enjoying your stay.... More

The staff at this resort is gracious and accommodating on every level. We were greeted at the airport with a smile and whisked away in a private shuttle directly to the resort. Check in was swift and easy - it felt much like I was being welcomed by old friends... throughout my stay - everywhere I looked, hands were flying... More

The Riding Rock Inn was a pleasure as usual. The food is Bahamian/American with the BEST conch chowder and several good fish dinners during the week. The resort is on a lovely stretch of beach with no one on it. Rooms are basic but the view is worth a million dollars. Peaches was our bartender and friend. She will help... More

I had a great dive trip (excellent) and enjoyed the food (excellent) as well and good accomodations (needs a little sprucing up). The dive operation is safe, efficient and a real bargain (up to 17 dives in a week, typically wall diving starting at 40 feet). Both captain & dive master did great job of getting us to excellent dive... More

Dive resort of legends amongst dive enthusiasts; now a very pleasant small older style family resort with personalized service, offering great diving in small groups. San Salvador feels like it's on the edge of the planet, laid back, undeveloped, ultra friendly and crime free. Please, San Salvador, establish marine reserves so that your reefs will remain pristine!

I went to Riding Rock the 1st week in July 2013, and had a superior time. Here are some details: We could not get there in one day. Needed to stay overnight to get the 11am flight to San Salvador. We stayed at the Orange Hill hotel just 10 minutes from the hotel, and it was just fine. We got... More
