My 25-year-old daughter wanted to go on dive trip for her 25th birthday. We had been to the Bahamas years ago and enjoyed it, but I was looking for some place unprentious and more secluded with a great beach, friendly staff, comfortable rooms and good food. Boy, did we find it. Greenwood is quite simply one of the real hidden... more

My husband and I enjoyed a much needed rest at the Greenwood in May 09. We were cheerfully greeted by the on-site owners. The rooms are clean and accommodating. Meals are served family style and delicious with flavors of Germany and the Bahama's. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel right at home. Our top 5 reasons to... more

Beautiful, secluded beach and simple, charming hotel made for a relaxing vacation way off the beaten path. There were kayaks, scuba equipment, and bikes for us to use. Food was delicious as well. We stayed a bit early in the season and the pool was empty/being repaired so we did not see it is its full glory. The only downsides... more

Let's start at the beginning...the plane over shot the runway and had to back out of the trees, turn around, & then taxi in....they lost our luggage.....which must be a common occurance because the locals said " oh it will be here tuesday"....we arrived on thursday....so we had to cut our clothes up and make shorts...The owners say that they... more

We just spent nine days and nights at Greenwood. We is my husband, our one year old daughter and myself. Everything was perfect since the cheerful welcome at the resort's door. The rooms are spacious and clear, and spotless clean, we could hear the ocean from our bed, we had the eight miles pink sandy beach almost for ourselves (and... more

Our stay the first week in January was spectacular. We arrived at the same time as the strongest cold front of the season so had to deal with high winds and cool temperatures. Our intent was to scuba, snorkel and relax. We were easily able to do all three. The owner Waldimar felt so bad that we could not get... more

First and foremost, Cat Island is a unique place that may never change and I am positive that Ernest Hemingway would have found Cat Island and Greenwood to his liking. This is truly a cheap divers resort (motel). It is run by a German couple with German staff and a unique couple that run the diving program. The Germans acted... more
