If you're heading to North Andros and don't need to be on the beach, the Green Windows Inn offers clean rooms at a low price. We paid $60 a night for a room with double beds. The owner of the hotel, Kenny Robinson, is a very nice lady. She runs the business by herself. Getting a car on Andros can be complicated BUT Kenny can arrange that for you too. Just let her know your arrival time and she will have a car waiting for you. Rates are expensive for car rentals in the Bahamas, about $80 a day. For dinner, it's just a short walk down the road to Angie's Poop Deck where they provided a limited menu of very fresh food. If you are lucky, Angie will have conch! So tender you can cut it with a fork!

The only downside of the Inn is the shower pressure and the carpets (old and worn). BUT Kenny was sewing new bed skirts while we were there and discussed her plans to renovate a bit. For the price, this location is the best choice. more
