Everyone is better off going to the Caribbean! Freeport is boring, dirty, doesn't seem safe, this resort is completely outdated and doesn't have anything going on. They even ran out of bottled drinking water for almost 2 days, we ended up going to the store to get our own, which meant walking through un-safe areas. And Bahamas Air completely ripped... More

I just want to review Freeport Bahamas in general. Love it! Awesome! Want to move there. Grew up in south Florida and freeports gold rock beach puts all Florida beaches to shame. Went on a jeep tour where you drive your own jeep and it was the most awesome fun ever! Aside from riding your own airboat thru the glades!... More

After reading some of the comments here, I went to the resort with low expectations. Yes, it is definitely in need of an update (i.e. 1970's countertops) but it was very clean so not a problem for me. The one-bedroom we stayed in was super spacious. The shuttle service to beach, grocery store, and Port Lucaya was excellent. Since the... More

Location: The resort is centrally located, and about 2 miles north of the closest beach. There are no bars/restaurants on the property however there are a few within walking distance. One mile north of the resort is the "International Bazaar" - a ghost town consisting of a perfume factory and run down shops complete with locals who follow and hassle... More

Very old resort, carpet looked terrible, smoke detector took 3 days for a battery. No ability to use the shower due to lime build up. Asked three times before repaired. Hot water was poor, and we were not the only ones with this problem. Tennis courts were old and not kept up. The basketball hoop had a broken backboard. Could... More

The resort is a little worn, but the people who run it are cordial and very helpful. Several of them offer a Bahamian dinner one night a week for visitors. The pool is very relaxing and the hot tub is clean and warm. If you want a relaxing week with no hassles, this is your place. I forgot to mention... More

Freeport Resort is situated inland. The grounds for the most part are well maintained. Very small, 52 rooms. Most activities that are posted do not happen. Although Happy Hour is posted, there is none. It seemes they are very understaffed. No cleaning during the week:i.e. no bed change, bathroom clean up. If you are a beach person, this probably is... I stayed there last week for a few days. The hotel is built on a very nice setting where I can see the sea and sun rise from my balcony. It was magnificant scene for a city dweller like me that can hardly see the sun from home. I took the photo of the sun rise and now it is... More

Stayed here for one week and we were happy but not pleased. We did a last minute exchange through interval, when we arrived the office was closed they are open from 8-5 do to being understaffed. Do you know how many people are looking for jobs or trades in the Bahamas? Put up a hiring ad and keep the office... More
