I arrived at the hotal on Monday April 6th. I had a speedy check in because I am an RCI member which was a nice start and the staff did not bombard me with requests to see the timeshare presentation. The room was a decent size and included a full kitchen st up, dining room area, king size bed &... more

This is being written from our alternate accommodations - the Westin at Lucaya. We checked in yesterday as part of an RCI exchange. We were looking forward to it, as the last couple of reviews weren't so bad. (Note that the anon reviews giving it 5 stars are quite evidently planted by the hotel). Upon arrival, the AC didn't work.... more

Xanadu was a great value - use your money to have fun with. Nice clean comfortable room, easy going and friendly staff, not crowded. The property was built in the 50's and has been under renovation since taking a double hurricane hit in 2005. Still needs some work but most of what I saw was cosmetic in nature. Our room... more

Quiet hotel that offers a clean and comfortable place to sleep at night with easy access to a beautiful and equally as quiet beach. Rooms are dated and could use some maintenance but clean. No odd smells. Everything in working order. Overall the hotel could use some updating and clean up. A good choice to get away from the Spring... more

The hotel was wonderful. Incredible location. The beach will blow you away. Clean white sand. Shallow green and blue tropical water that seems to only come up to your waist no matter how far you wade out. They had the straw hut bar on the beach with a very friendly bartender. Rooms were very nice, clean, and smelled like new... more

Negative reviewers must have written under the wrong hotel because this place was AWESOME! We walked to everything, we never took one cab ride anywhere. Restaurants were all around the hotel. The party scene at night was on the beach and at the clubs. You can walk out to the hotel entrance sign, take a left, and walk one block.... more

I am right there with you Mimi. We were there from 27 Dec until 3 January. The property has so much potential but unfortunately there are many items in disrepair. We smelled the fish odor, had 3 suites - phone only worked in one and many items were missing from the room in the kitchen area. We could not get... more

We decided to go by the most recent review that we read which was positive...bad idea. Our room had no phone, no remote control, no air conditioning, very poor drainage in the bathroom, and beds too squeaky to even sleep in! The lobby and elevator smelled like a combination of rotten fish and baby powder. We went during our Christmas... more

The staff is rude and never smiled once. They treat you like an intrusion. Nelly at guest services has a very bad attitude. Stay away! more

We spent a week here from Sept. 1 to Sept. 7th 2008 and everything was perfect. The rooms were very clean and had incredible views of the ocean area. The furniture was very ornate. Looked like the type of stuff you would find in Pier 1 Imports or Bombay Furniture. Some of the most comfortable hotel beds I have slept... more
