My husband and I wanted to visit the Bahamas at Christmas time even though we knew it would be a family destination, Since we did not want to be inundated by children, we were not sure which accomodations in the resort would be best for us. We couldn't figure it out, so we spoke to a supervisor (I think her... More

Atlantis, even at age 20, is still in great shape. After 20 years it still has the mega resort WOW factor. Beautiful beaches, pools, slides, aquariums...lots of restaurant choices...lots of bored unhappy workers and a few who know how to get things done. Atlantis should be fearful of BahaMar opening in the Spring -- everyone loves the newest property on... More

I stayed at the Reef for two days. First a few basics for those not familiar with the Atlantis. Atlantis is a collection of 5 resorts. 1. the beach tower is its lowest end tower 2. The Coral Tower is the 2nd lowest end tower 3. The Royal tower is its middle of the road tower 4. The Atlantis Reef... More

I spent an amazing 3 days at The Reef in December. The airport transfer was very timely, the check in process went fast, and the room was amazing. Which allowed me to be on the beach, enjoying sand and sunshine very soon after arriving Saturday afternoon. The staff are extremely friendly, and the Atlantis resort is amazing. There's something there... More

This has to be the single worst vacation experience that I've ever had. I have never been so over-charged and so under-whelmed by any hotel. Every single aspect of my stay at Atlantis disappointed. The property is huge and sprawled out, but the signage is terrible so navigating (especially at night when it is not well-lit) is an absolute nightmare.... More

Resort and beach are excellent very nice and clear water. However, Food is terrible and very expensive. For 6 of us we went to the Cove restaurant and the bill was more than $400 and food was not good. Frozen food/meat. being on the ocean I expected grilled seafood all over the places just like in Mexico but rather it... More

After reading reviews I was determined to keep my expectations low. I betted if we stayed at the Reef there was some insurance that the trip might go reasonably well. My research was successful. Atlantis is the realization of an incredible dream from someone's mind. I've read reviews that state Atlantis is "fake." I don't think an expertly designed tropical... More

Everything you've heard about Atlantis in general and the Reef in particular is true. It's a sprawling anonymous complex with hit-and-miss service, though many of the Bahamian employees are delightful. The Reef really does feel like a condo complex, not a hotel, and that is not for the better. Check out was a disaster, with a front-desk employee named Christopher... More

I'm usually happy with most places I stay, I was not happy with The Reef. We chose to stay at the Cove for our first two nights and then our following 7 nights at The Reef because it was rated #2 on TripAdvisor. I question if most five star reviews for this hotel are people that have never stayed in... More

We spent our first trip to Atlantis at the Reef hotel. I had heard mixed reviews of Atlantis' waterpark, pools and beaches. On The positive side, all agreed there is plenty to do, service is exquisite and the hotels and amenities themselves are top-notch. The negatives I was told, were the cost of food/drink and activities as well as the... More
