The location is perfect. Nestled between the bay and the ocean, this property is just the best location! The yoga is great. Beginners was where I went, and they are helpful, making sure you don't do the poses incorrectly. At first a vegetarian cuisine sounded doubtful, everything was wonderful, fresh, plentiful and interesting combinations of fresh vegetables, and herbs.

My husband and I visited the ashram last March. You could not find nicer setting for yoga retreat. Private and quiet and yet if you wanted to visit Nassau all you had to do is take (free) boat. Amazing beach, sand so fine it attaches itself to your feet. 2 1.5 hour yoga classes-one in the morning and one in... More

I went to this retreat last week. I have never been to a yoga retreat so I thought this would be a perfect start, considering it's in the Bahamas. There were several things that threw me off (I'll list the positives later to be fair): 1. Meals are provided twice, daily: 9:45 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. there are no snacks/in-betweens.... More

I was travelling to the Sivananda ashram on the Bahamas by myself in July 2015 and I loved it!!! The beach is perfect. The vegan Food delicious (I did not know that vegan could be that tasty and filling :-) ). The little huts cute and well kept and I enjoyed doing the yoga classes in the morning and afternoon.... A superb location and ideal proposition for a healthy vacation that gets away from it all. Four hours of yoga a day and then the rest of the time on the beach and reading. The food is well done (relative to my expectations for and inexperience with vegetarian food) although note that it is heavy on carbs and so not... More

It wasn't them, it was me. My review would repeat most of the misgivings in the "average" reviews. I wasn't able to cope with only two meals a day and, most of all, only having tap water from a single community faucet. I found the yoga classes to be really hit or miss on quality, and short on soulfulness. The... More

I just love going to the Ashram. What a wonderful relaxing place to go. Great yoga, lovely beach, wonderful food. The rooms are simple but clean and with that lovely atlantic wind there's just nothing like it. Came back feeling amazing. I will be returning very soon, it's really worth it.

I have stayed at this 3 times since 2009 and it just gets better and better each time. I usually go in August because it is not busy. The daily routine is rigorous but very invigorating. The meals are the best vegetarian food i have had. All ingredients are fresh and prepared with care. The rooms are small but air... More

It is a nice place for peace and quiet, to find yourself. Welcome by reception was very helpful; everything well coordinated. Members of staff are very accommodating... We had the best type of room: ocean view, comfortable beds, plenty of space, balcony, normal bathroom, kitchenette. The yoga and meditation programs are lead by very enthusiastic yogis; I'm a beginner and... More

Well, you can't beat the value of this lovely garden spot that shares a beach, but not an attitude, with the massive Atlantis resort. The deluxe beachfront rooms have private balconies that overlook the powder-sand beach with that crystal-clear Bahamas water. The rooms, which can only be booked if you have at least two people, also have private bath and... More
