remember; you're travelling to the carebbean. sense of quality, tidyness, safety are not the same as in western europe or north america. All in all everything sorta works, shower, AC, bed, linen, breakfast, pool. Cost of living in the bahama's is relatively expensive, compared to other hotels this is good buck for the dollar (euro). it's in the middle of... More

My wife and I spent a week at Atlantis in 2013. Our expenditures averaged about $1000 per day, including room, meals, resort fee, automatic gratuities, more fees, taxes, and more fees. While it is an amazing property, it is also a ripoff. This time we tried something different and booked a room at Towne. This is a funky, locally owned... More

Booked online as it had the most reasonable prices for a downtown, Nassau location. Received confirmation within a couple hours. Reservation was located when I showed up at the hotel a few weeks later with no problem. The credit card machine was down, but that was an issue with the local internet connection and not the hotel. Staff was friendly,... More

We were in room 45 on the third floor. Awful room. Very lumpy bed, like sleeping on a box spring. No outlets for charging. The A/C was manual and mounted high on the wall, so you needed a chair to change the setting. It was either on or off. Internet was mostly not working. Finally, the TV reception was very... More

This is a very random hotel in Downtown Nassau. It is very close to the area where the big cruise lines stop, so lots of shops and bars. If you want a non smoking room like we did be sure to request it and then complain if you don't get it! Also as this is downtown there is a lot... More

We reserved our hotel room by email and were confirmed within 2 hours. Arrived at Towne Hotel around 3:30. The staff was friendly, i did not see anything strange about the neighborhood. I had my 11 year old son with me and we walked around downtown Nassau day and night. The hotel had a courtyard with a pool that the... More

I have just been looking on Trip Advisor at hotels I've stayed in over the years in various countries and can't believe the pictures I'm seeing of this hotel. It, without a word of a lie, hasn't changed in over 20years. My friend and I stayed here in 1991 for 2 weeks and from the various pictures posted by other... More

To start off with, this downtown area is loud and a bit sketchy. This is not the resort look of the Bahamas that most of us imagine. There was NO warm or hot water for us the entire stay of a week. One morning the sink was running brown water and then stopped working. Most of the front desk staff... More

The plusses: inexpensive, a good [free]breakfast, a nice atmosphere, tasty dinners at a very reasonable rate, a friendly bar scene, convenient to many tourist attractions, [I go there on business], and other things. The minuses: rooms that are sometimes slightly worn looking, beds that are not as comfy as they might be. None of which puts me off in the... More
