We stayed here during April 2008. We found the desk staff very helpful and friendly. We ate at the restaurant a lot and never found the food disappointing. We were always able to get a chair on the private beach. Our room was fine but a little on the small side. We were Hilton Diamond members so we got to... more

Our stay at the Britishi Colonial Hilton was outstanding! The service was wonderful! The Staff was friendly, courteous, helpful and responsive to every request! The refurbishing has made the hotel beautiful with well-appointed, quiet rooms and good restaurants! The location was excellent for ease of walking to major sites - The Straw Market, Government House, The National Art Gallery, Cathedral,... more

We read all the ratings on several sites and the 1st stay at this hotel in May 2009, we found we did not experience the same as some had written. But, then when we stayed in August 2009, it was EXACTLY as the bad reviews had indicated. We are Hilton Diamond members, which is the highest level of their frequent... more

The British Colonial is a hotel you really, really want to like, but gosh they make it hard. First a bit of history, since this is the oldest operating hotel in the Bahamas. The current building dates from 1922, when the previous hotel that had burnt to the ground was rebuilt on the site. For decades, this was the premier... more

I just want to comment on the most enjoyable stay I had your hotel, The Hilton British Colonial. I travel all over the world with my company, Net Jets International and I stay at all the popular hotel chains. With that in mind I consider myself in a position to rate a hotels service and appearance, both of which yours... more

This hotel is really in central Nassau, which is not a lovely place. The hotel is alright, the staff perfectly nice. Not a very elegant place, and certainly not a great resort. Convenient for meetings in town. Go elsewhere for a romantic vacation or a fun getaway. I would recommend the outer islands of the Bahamas for that. more

The lobby area is large and open with check in staff who i found friendly because the had to be not because they wanted to be but i must say that the housekeeping ladies were very warm and friendly . Our room was small but... more

This was my first visit to the Bahamas, and we were holding a business symposium with approximately 50 participants. I have been staying in hotels for 25 plus years and I can say absolutely that the service at the hotel is FIRST CLASS. The staff are warm and very helpful, and they exude a genuie feeling of wanting to make... more

The Hilton is a good hotel. The first impression from the lobby area is very good. The front desk was very professional. The hotel is still undergoing renovation - i cant speak for all rooms but the room we stayed in was good. Comfortable bed and large clean bathroom with a separate shower cubicle and bath. The water pressure however... more
