we booked a very reasonably priced trip which included the hotel and was all prepaid so we did not have any of the billing issues others have mentioned. the woman at the front desk was very nice and helpful and check in was very easy. the front lobby is very impressive, large and marble in the old colonial style. our... We stayed in this hotel for a weekend, Friday-Sunday night in an executive room on the 6th floor. The room was small for an executive room, however it did have a big bed, large bathroom with separate shower and bath. The bathroom was very clean with wrap around large white towels. We didn't have any of the issues mentioned by... More

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night and that was enough. The room was extremely small which was ok if the bed didn't cause back pain the next day. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The business center was a joke with only 2 computers in the middle of the foyer where you hear everything and there... More

I was a bit skeptical of booking this day pass from home, sight unseen, but as it turned out it was the best decision. My daughter and I arrived at the Hotel, quaint, located right in the heart of Nassau, convenient to all the shops on Bay Street and easily walkable from the Cruise Ship Dock. The Hotel is an... More

We went here for the daypass when we were on a cruise. The cost of the day was a bit pricey adults were $65 and kids were about $33. You get a food credit of $30ea and use of the facility including towels. This hotel is gorgeous and was WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY. The beach is beautiful, covered chairs, sand... More

Watch out for surprise fees. Good luck trying to get any staff on the phone for help with questions or problems. After 4 weeks I am still waiting for a return phone call from the catering/restaurant manager. Front desk hung up instead of transfering me to the concierge 50% of the time. Outside of hotel could use a new paint... More

Booked using avios points so the stay was essentially free. Was far better than expected. Excellent location on Bay Street which is the main road in Nassau. Agree with reviews that the beach area is really small, only a few sun beds so need to get down early to reserve. The hotel is a little dated and some of the... More

Annual girl's vacation! We were extremely excited to be in Nassau Bahamas July 12-16 and especially to stay at the Hilton! Unfortunately our excitement soon turned into disappointment from the very initial contact with the front desk staff. *I have to admit I have never experienced such rude treatment at ANY hotel I've stayed (we travel throughout the year!). I am about to echo the past several reviews....the fees that are charged here are just enormous. I think I paid a little over $300 for ONE night and the room rate was like $225, so you do the math. Internet access was not free....the lobby of the hotel is beautiful, but is that what you want to pay for?... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated on downtown Nassau’s only private beach and the site of Old Fort Nassau, the British Colonial Hilton in the Bahamas has undergone a multi-million renovation throughout all areas of the hotel, and offers a taste of the island’s rich history, along with some of the most modern amenities for both business and vacation travelers. What’s more the hotel is only 25 minutes from Nassau (Lynden Pindling International) Airport. The hotel is a true Bahamian experience with a marble-tiled lobby and is studded with palm trees under a skylight ceiling. There are 288 luxuriously appointed guest rooms with harbor or island views. All rooms are furnished with tasteful decor, complemented by separate shower and bathtub. One-bedroom suites offer a separate living area with sofa bed, and Executive accommodations are also available along with the Executive Lounge, where attentive hotel staff assures that every need and whim will be met during your stay. Recreational activities are convenient and varied for leisure and business travelers alike. A 300-ft long private white sand beach is furnished with lounge chairs and thatched sunshades overlooking the harbor offering a peaceful and secluded access for an ocean swim or a day in the sun. Use of kayaks and snorkeling gear on the beach is complimentary. Bordered on one side by a tropical garden, the hotel's freshwater pool offers harbor views and has an expansive sundeck with lounge chairs and umbrellas. Both the sundeck and beach offer views of cruise ships moored nearby, and of the western tip of Paradise Island, 300 yards offshore. Guests can snooze in hammocks on the lawn adjacent to the pool. The property can also organize trips out reef snorkeling island exploring, boating, golf, tennis and scuba diving. For dining options, Aqua is a fun, casual restaurant serving international favorites with a Caribbean flair, or guests can meet up for cocktails at the Bullion Bar. The new Bullion Bar is the 'place to be seen' for happy hour with great drink specials and tasty snacks. ... more   less
