We chose Caneel Bay because it was one of the highest rated on TripAdvisor. Being one of the more expensive resorts, we figured it would be the perfect choice. Ultimately, our 4-night stay was just okay. Our room was a regular courtside room. It didn't look nearly as nice as the courtside room pictures online, and sadly, was much further... More

My wife and I have just returned from a trip during the first week in May. We have been fortunate enough to have visited Caneel many times. The beaches remain spectacular and uncrowded. The natural beauty and serenity of this resort is unique from all other resorts/islands we have visited. But, I have to comment on the staff too. I... More

When I arrived late at night my family and I were met by a very welcoming staff with umbrellas who showed us to our room. Inside we were gifted with sandwiches that were completely complimentary. The staff was incredibly friendly and I felt very safe from the moment I stepped onto their resort. It was a paradise! The beaches were... More

Once again, another stellar week at Caneel! This year it was a bit rainy and cloudy but the sunny disposition of the staff and all the smiles made it seem like a perfect weather week. This marked my 8th trip to Caneel and despite the weather, one of my best. First of all - there's the property - 7 beaches,... More

Caneel is the best, we love the beach and an increadable expierence. We were there twice last year and try to return every year. Beach is why you go to Caneel, the resort has the tradewinds and the beach atmosphere, sure theres TV at the Westin and when we want fine service we go to NY, but when you want... More

My husband and I stayed at Caneel Bay the first week of May. The resort has it's own space within the airport where you go check in your luggage and are transported to the ferry to St. John. We were greeted nicely upon arrival, and then it was as if we did not exist any longer. Many employees at the... More

I have read the Caneel reviews and agree with all of the positive ones. I believe that the negative ones really don't appreciate where it is that they are getting to stay when coming to St. John. This is by far the best place between St. Thomas and St. John. This was our second time to Caneel and we are... More

If you are looking for seclusion, nature and understated elegance, this place is for you. If you are looking for nightly entertainment, social life, and great food/drinks, choose another place. Our experience at Caneel was top-notch from before we even arrived. Our flight was delayed so we called to tell them we wouldn't make the last ferry. No problem, they... More

Caneel Bay offers a truly unique get away for the worries of the world. The individualized service is beyond comparison. We were made to feel that we were the only guests at the resort. The lack of TVs, telephones and radios were just a few of the factors that left us feeling that we were truly the only ones on... More

We just spent our 12th wedding anniversary at Caneel Bay, a place we have been to a number of times over the years. Although we go to other beautiful islands and hotels, everytime we return to Caneel it is like coming home. The beaches are spectacular, the people are so friendly, it is serene and peaceful and relaxing, as well... More
