We just returned from another great vacation at Caneel. We've been going to this wonderful resort for almost 30 years and simply have no complaints. It's the quintessential "get what you pay for" place... BUT Caneel is definitely not for everyone. The resort is not cheap. And "luxury" is in the eye of the beholder. Not everyone wants the same... more

My husband and I spent 7 nights honeymooning at Caneel last year. I realize that it is a little late to write a review, but after reading some less than flattering reviews I felt compelled to share the fabulous experience we had at Caneel. Yes, it's a little pricey, but you are paying for the location and not the latest... more

Caneel Bay is an absolutely spectacular resort. This was our first trip to St. John and I guarantee we will return to this beautiful island and once again stay at Caneel Bay. As a professional journalist, I consider myself objective. Before traveling to St. John earlier this month, I read many entries about this property. Now that we are back... more

My husband and I went to Caneel for our honeymoon last week. I am definitely more of a mountain person, but my husband is a beach bum through and through, though we both love nature so we decided to give St. John's a try (my husband had been to trunk bay before and loved it). We found Caneel on the... more

We are at Caneel Bay as I type this review. Had to get on to say just how beautiful it is. I travel all over the world for my company and this is just great. We are staying at the premium courtside as we needed extra room - 4 of us. Separate room with entrance to balcony with king size... more

We just spent a week at Caneel Bay. The resort has one ingredient that sets it apart from any other in the Carribean, the island of St. John and the location of the resort. There isn't a more picturesque location in the Carribean. Everytime you stop, the view is more magnicent than the last. The beautiful water, white sand, and... more

Yes, staying at Caneel Bay may be expensive, but it is defintely worth it. Imagine the most beautiful beach possible, a beach of your dreams, only steps from your room. The room was fairly large, big enough for 2 adults, 1 kid and a baby, without feeling cramped. And our room always seemed clean, I think our rooms was cleaned... more

My husband and I stayed at Caneel Bay for 7 nights and overall had a very positive experience. The grounds are beautiful, and their beaches are some of the best on the island. However, since it is in the middle of a national park, they can't restrict beach access, so even if you stay somewhere else, you can still use... more

Las Ventanas, in Los Cabos, or The Tides (formerly Villa del Sol), in Zihuatanejo, blow this place away. Caneel is run down and the service is below average. After tiring of the 2 day-old bagels at the continental breakfast bar, we decided to try the Sunday brunch and were presented with a bill for $118 (for two). No prices posted... more

My husband , 2 daughters (11,13) and I stayed in Caneel Bay for 6 nights and had a spectacular time! The resort and beaches are beautiful. Although it is a big resort, everything is spread out. Our rooms were great and fully stocked. We all liked the food at the various restaurants. Service on the beach was good. The water... more
