First of all I would like to say that prior to my trip I was on this site 24/7 constantly obsessing to see if other travelers gave Caneel a bad rating, and some people have I even started to think that I made a wrong decision by booking our trip. However,If you do not love Caneel Bay I am sorry... more

Maui is extremely hard to beat. But Caneel Bay did it. The beaches were amazing, completely out of a magazine. We are certified divers and the snorkeling right off the beach was better than any dive we have done. Yes, unbelievable. Amazing corals, sting rays, 2 sea turtles, squid, barracuda, tons other fish. The food was good. A bed and... more

We have been going to Caneel Bay for over 25 years. We loved the trip again this year, but things are different. I do believe it is a reflection of the world right now. There were many groups and weddings this year. This is good for the property, but not good for us! Lots of commotion. The culture has changed.... more

Just got back from Caneel Bay with our kids, ages 14, 8, and 6. It was one of the best vacations we have ever taken. We felt welcomed from the moment we stepped onto the ferry in St. Thomas and even more so when we stepped off at the resort. Our rooms were simple and clean (and kept clean with... more

My partner and I felt so much at home at Caneel Bay that we have been dreaming about returning ever since our trip in March (And I like to think of myself as the type of traveler who doesn't like to go back to the same place twice). From the moment we got off the plane, the service was incredible... more

My Husband and I recently spent 7 nights at this gorgeous resort. We were so excited to go after seeing how beautiful it was on the website. It was our last big trip before I started pediatric residency and so relaxing was needed. We got an awesome deal on a ocean view room on expedia. I am torn writing this... more

Caneel Bay offers the perfect vacation for honemooners and families with small children and/or teenagers. When we spent our honeymoon at Caneel I couldn't understand why my parents had taken us when I was young. We didn't notice a lot of children and it was so romantic. When our children were 6, 9 and 11 we realized why the resort... more

Caneel Bay is magical property, unlike no other. We can't say enough about the Eden like atmosphere, with animals and humans co-habituating beautifully and the lush grounds inside the national park. Make sure to walk the entire property and enjoy the many hiking/walking trails early morning before the heat. Though there is a Disneyland-like transportation system running all day throughout... more

Returned to Caneel for the fifth time in 28 years. Haven't been able to return for many years...would it be the same amazing place?. In a word - yes. Don't expect glitz or glamour. Caneel is the place you go to "drop out", put the brain in neutral, forget you have a job, home, kids, whatever. Comfortable rooms, fabulous beaches... more

We took a long weekend to return to one of old favorites, Caneel Bay. This time we were accompanied by another couple, old friends, who had also visited the resort once or twice before. On this visit we had booked into a beachfront category room, instead of the usual "premium beachfront" category we usually book. Premium beachfront rooms are all... more
