Maho Bay Camps is a great active vacation for adventurers of all ages. We went June 13 - 21 2008 with me, my husband (who had back surgery just a month prior to going), and our girls ages 9 & 11. THE CABIN TENTS: We stayed in the cabin tents (A-29, which offered great access to the beach and a... more

I would like to thank you for your time in writing a review of our property for those interested in visiting us. Our volunteers do tend to be a little shell shocked when they first arrive and it takes a little while for them to know a lot of the questions they may be encountered with. But we do love...

This IS camping... with a cabin tent and electricity provided. BE PREPARED for bugs, beautiful beaches, big and little lizards, gorgeous sunsets, climbing stairs for a cold pull-chain shower, climbing stairs for a delicious meal, no ac, fantastic snorkeling, long-bumpy-hair-pin-turn-expensive cab rides to town, great hiking trails, way-overpriced grocery store items, and relaxing while you get away from 'it all'... more

Thank you for your honest review of our property. We do wish that taxi fares on island were lower and more affordable, but at $4.79/gallon it is hard to argue, especially since the rates have not raised with gas prices over the last year. Depending on the size of the group and number of times you will leave property, sometimes...

My partner and I decided to take a weekend break to St John and wanted to stay in an affordable place. We opted for the Harmony Suites as we didn't fancy the idea of not having an en-suite and also were wary about bugs. The road to the camp site seems quite long and is full of holes - this... more

Thank you for taking time to post a review about our property. I agree, the road in and out of Maho is quite rustic at times. We have recently filled in the potholes and hope that they will last longer than the previous patches did. We would love to put in a real road, but that would require ALL of...

I love love love Maho Bay, and have stayed there about 7 times. It is the type of resort that has annual repeat guests. But you have to be of a certain type to like it. I hate camping, I hate communal bathrooms that I have to walk to in the middle of the night, I hate all sorts of... more

Maho Bay is truly a different experience. The tent cabins are described in lots of other reviews. I just want to add that we were very comfortable. You get the "close to nature" experience without quite all the inconvenience of camping. Our tent cabin was near the beach, although there was no view it was nice hearing the waves at... more

My husband and I stayed at Maho Bay Campground on April 3 & 4 before a sailing trip in the BVIs. We met up with Mr. Fritt (he runs a regularly scheduled shuttle between Cruz Bay and Maho) as we got off the ferry from Red Hook. There were 2 Maho Bay employees on the shuttle going back to the... more

My husband and I stayed here from March 30 - April 5, 2008 and are very glad that we went. In fact, If you like nature, even if you don't care for camping you will probably be very happy here, and it will not matter that there are shared bath houses. If you are very fussy about lodging and need... more

The Maho Bay tent cabins are well designed and quite comfortable especially for someone who camps (although they pale in comparison to the Concordia cabins on the sister property). They are not as sealed as a zip tent so it is quite likely there will be a spider or gecko in sight at some point. We did not have trouble... more

Tips for staying at Maho Bay Camps: 1. If you're a family, don't rent a regular size Jeep as you will not be able to get all your luggage in with your family too. We had 2 kids and we could not fit all the luggage in with the kids in the back seat so 1 child had to sit... more

I booked my trip with Maho Bay Camps. I requested a Livingroom at Harmony studios. When I received my confirmation I was charged the room for the lesser rate - and there was a disclaimer that specific requests are considered but not guaranteed. I sent Maho Bay and email asking them to confirm that I was in the better accomodations... more
