Stayed at Cinnamon Bay Campground for 2 weeks in April on a bare site (took my own tent, stove etc) I'm a camping enthusiast and have camped in British Columbia, Washington, Oregon and Australia and have to say Cinnamon Bay is definitely very close to 5-star camping. I especially loved the privacy of the campsites. Not packed in side-by-side and... more

We stayed on a bare site (47A) in Cinnamon Bay Campground. The site was a 10 minute "hike" down a rocky, slippery when wet path to the bathroom. My husband and I are young and in very good shape but walking up to this site is not easy, especially in the rain or in the dark. The site also had... more

We stayed for two weeks in a baresite (group site C), which means we lived in our own tent, with our own stove and cooked all our own food all the time. It was fantastic. The group site, I think, was far better than having a single because it got more sunlight (most singles are in the woods with the... more

The national parks system is underfunded and it kinda shows...but it is a wonderful experience to be able to stay in St. John for such a low cost per day. you can bring your own tent etc and go completely self-sustaining, you can rent one of the established tents (basically army-style wall tents on platforms) or what they call cottages"... more

We spent a week over the Christmas holiday at the campground. Our first experience in the USVI quickly taught us the meaning of "island time". The first cottage room we stayed in was surrounded by families and w/o asking the staff gave us the option to relocate to another cottage. Wow, that was nice and a great move that literally... more

My boyfriend and I just got back from vacationing on the island of St. Thomas, and decided to spend one night on St. John, at the "Cinnamon Bay Campground". We decided on renting a cottage for the night, since I was not in the mood to sleep in one of their tents or bring my own tent for one of... more

As campgrounds go, this one was very nice. We just had a miserable experience during the one night we stayed there, here's why: We arrived after dark, which made it so much harder to find our campsite and get settled in. We had to drive back into town to get bottled water and ice. After sweating profusely, I needed to... more

This is camping in paradise! I love snorkeling, and some AMAZING snorkeling was just a few hundred feet away from the tent. We spent every day at the beach. We loved the outdoor showers, clean bathrooms, and access to various parts of the island with the taxis. We met some really nice people in the campground too. We stayed for... more

Okay, we have stayed here at least ten times in the past decade, but I can say it is going a bit down hill in the last two. I love the outdoors, but it seems like trash removal and irrigation is getting worse. make sure you bring lots of mosquito coils or thermacells, you can get those from Cabela's for... more
